Dilraba Dilmurat to Star in Zhang Yimou’s New Drama?
Dilraba Dilmurat’s (迪麗熱巴) latest dramas Legend of Anle <安樂傳> and Prosecution Elite <公訴> did not meet critical nor ratings expectations. However, this has not affected her popularity as she is still one of the highest searched actresses. In a trend ranking chart, Legend of Anle ranked third which was higher than Zhou Xun’s Imperfect Victim <不完美受害人> which came in last.
Recently it is rumored that Dilraba will join Zhang Yimou’s (張謀藝) new drama League of Legends <英雄聯盟>. The male lead is rumored to be TFBoys’ Jackson Yee (易烊千璽) and other supporting cast include Ma Jiaqi (馬嘉祺) and Song Yaxuan (宋亞軒).
If Dilraba lands the role, it would help her step away from purely idol dramas towards more mainstream projects. However, some netizens are unsupportive of the news as they feel that Dilraba needs to increase the range of her acting skills more. Some fans even wanted Yang Yang (楊洋) to join the drama so he could partner with Dilraba again after their incredible chemistry in You Are My Glory <你是我的榮耀>.
Netizens are also worried when they realized the scriptwriter for League of Legends is the same person as Fireworks of My Heart <我的人間烟火>, which received criticism for its poor plot. Many suggested another scriptwriter to be hired instead.

I am a mini fan of YiYangQianXi…. Such a talented and sweet young man. I have only watched him in serious characters… I wonder what will his character be in this new drama. I really hope it is not Dilraba… but she brings in investors and sponsors. And Zhang Yimou’s projects are high quality which will bring budget up….
