Dilraba Dilmurat and Zhang Linghe to Star in New Drama

After both highly-publicized dramas Prosecution Elite <公訴>  and The Legend of Anle <安樂傳> were ratings disappointments, Dilraba Dilmurat (迪麗熱巴) nevertheless maintained her popularity streak through variety show Divas Hit the Road <花兒與少年>. Dilraba’s upcoming historical drama King of Phoenix <萬渣朝鳳> is already gaining momentum, especially after a flurry of rumors of who the male lead would be. Speculated to start filming in January 2024, the drama is based on the popular manga series.

After starring in multiple hit series such as Eternal Love <三生三世十里桃花>, The Long Ballad <長歌行> and You Are My Glory <你是我的榮耀>, Dilraba’s beauty easily helped her become the face of endless brand endorsements, putting her earnings above many A-list actresses.

However, after filming Prosecution Elite last year, Dilraba spent nine months without filming work. She was even speculated to be secretly pregnant with Johnny Huang Jingyu‘s (黃景瑜) child. In March, Dilraba dispelled the rumors when she finally began filming for Sword Rose <利劍玫瑰>. Dilraba continued to be a fashion sensation and wowed with her beautiful red carpet looks, including making an appearance at the Dior show in Paris during Paris Fashion Week.

Zhang Linghe Confirmed as Male Lead

Dilraba’s upcoming series, King of Phoenix, is already heating up discussions with its male ensemble cast. Rumors circulated over who the male lead would be, including  Dylan Wang Hedi (王鶴棣), Zhang Linghe (張凌赫), Joseph Zheng Shunxi (曾舜晞), and Ryan Ding Yuxi (丁禹兮) rumored to be linked to the project.

The male lead is now said to be Zhang Linghe, whose explosive performance in Story of Kunning Palace < 宁安如梦> won over millions of new fans.

Other confirmed actors in King of Phoenix include Ryan Ding, Lin Yi (林一), Tian Jia Rui (田嘉瑞), and Miles Wei (魏哲鳴).
