Fiona Yuen Delivers 6-Pound Baby Girl

Former TVB actress and 1996 Miss Hong Kong second runner-up, Fiona Yuen (袁彩雲), gave birth to a baby girl on August 5. The baby weighed over 6 pounds and resembled her father, Anthony Kong (江銘峰). Fiona has not decided on the name for her daughter yet, torn between the names of Alison and Alycia.

Fiona Yuen husbandIn 2009, Fiona married restaurateur Antony Kong, moved to Vancouver, and retired from acting. This year in March, the 37 year-old announced that she was pregnant. Fiona decided to return to Hong Kong to give birth, and in the last few weeks busily met with friends and made several brand appearances.

In the delivery room, Antony was quite nervous while watching the birthing process of their first child, which made Fiona cry emotionally.

Fiona’s good friend, Bell Lau (劉曉彤), visited mother and daughter at the hospital.  Since Bell already has three children, she excitedly shared parenting tips with Fiona. Since Fiona was still feeling weak at the time, Bell helped changed a soiled diaper.

Although it is only the fourth day since giving birth, Fiona is recovering well. She is breastfeeding, but the baby has a small mouth and takes her time to drink. Fiona will remain in Hong Kong during her postpartum confinement and recovery, so that her elder sister and godmother can take care of her. She also has plans to hire a caretaker to help with the baby once released from the hospital.

  1. Whoa. She still looks great. Congrats to her and her new bundle of joy.

  2. Coming across news of older stars that have left the entertainment circle but found happiness in their new families always make me smile. Congrats to Fiona and she has a beautiful family!

Any local Vancouver residents know what type of restaurant her husband Antony Kong owns?

      1. Does Fiona’s husband own this restaurant by himself, or is it partnered with other people/his extended family?

      2. I think it’s a partnership. But it seems like he is a partner in more than 1 restaurant.

      3. Thanks for the information. Does her husband come from a rich family? Or is he a very successful businessman? Probably both!

  3. Congrats! Her baby girl look like printing from her husband.

  4. Congratulations to Fiona!
Both mom and daughter look gorgeous.

  5. Fiona’s baby looks so cute and sweet. Congratulations to the new parents!

  6. WOW!!!! beautiful couple, beautiful baby beautiful mom after labor? nice… =0)

  7. The entire family is beautiful! I saw Fiona once at a mall event in HK and thought she looked better in real life. The camera adds extra pounds on her, she was super skinny and had gorgeous skin.

Same thing with Sandra Ng, never thought she was attractive until I met her in person.

  8. Congrats to the family! It’s weird for her to deliver the baby in Hong Kong.. Most celebrities would leave Hong Kong for that.

  9. That’s a beautiful couple with a beautiful baby! Why did she deliver the baby in Hong Kong and not in Vancouver? Is there a waiting list for having a baby in Canada too or that’s just for surgery? Any native Canadians?

    1. Is there a waiting list for having a baby in Canada.

I don’t think so. Perhaps Fiona wants to be close to her sister in Hong Kong so that she can get help easily. In fact, I am surprised too. Why didn’t she have her baby here ………… born Canadian who will get all the benefits, such as education, health care, citizenship, etc.? Strange!

    2. easier to to get Canadian citizenship as a HKID holder than it is the other way around

      1. basically you don’t want to shut out the baby’s future in China by being born in Canada. all chinese documents are easier to obtain as a native HK person. Canada is very open to welcoming immigrants anyway. if you were born in Canada, yes you can obtain a HKID, but it’ll be different and it’ll be reflected.

      2. I think being born in Chinese territory isn’t bad anymore. Most parents would like their children to ahve dual citizenship (at least in my understanding yu can be HK citizen and something else at the same time). If the child lived in Vancouver she can probably get citizenship in a few years, or just become naturalized from her parents. simple (:

    3. true, that. i hold a british passport but chose to have my baby in hk because they don’t allow dual nationality. as a descendant of a british citizen, my bub is entitled to a british passport. as he was born in hk to a chinese parent (his dad), he can also apply for a hkid card, hksar passport and home return permit. if he’d be born in the uk, he would not likely get the latter 3 items.

      1. also, it’s much easier to buy all that yeuk choi (chinese herbal) crap necessary during the confinement period.

  10. Wow! Congrats to Fiona! Oh so she’s retired, no wonder I no longer see her in TVB series. I think I best remember her with Bowie Lam in the movie that they use helicopters to save people? With Charmaine Sheh and Ekin Cheng.

  11. Lovely couple with a beautiful baby! I liked Fiona Yuen in the Healing Hands series. Fiona was quite a rare TVB artiste who speaks fluent german as she grew up in Germany, if I’m not mistaken. Good to know that she is having a blissful family life.

  12. She was a really good actress, she was hilarious in The W Files and Face To Fate. I really enjoyed her performances in there and as a guest in Ultimate Crime Fighter. I wished she would of stayed longer but glad she found happiness.

  13. Oh wow!! I remember admiring her beauty in some earlys 2000’s dramas. (after Kenix Kwok back in the 90’s TVB dramas)!!
The Legend of Lady Yang, God of Honor, The W Files and Lofty Waters Verdant Bow!
Now, i always wonder how shes been going, Getting married with a rich husband. Lucky!!
