Joel Chan and Elena Kong Win Best Actress and Best Actor Award
The 2022 TVB awards has concluded with Joel Chan (陳山聰) and Elena Kong (江美儀) taking home the station’s top awards. The two artistes were surprised by the outcome and share their thoughts on their wins.
Joel Chan – Best Actor and Best Dressed Male Artiste
While Joel won the Best Actor Award for his role in Barrack O’Karma 1968 <金宵大廈2>, he confessed that he was caught off guard and thought Andrew Lam (林敏驄) was the night’s biggest winner. Speaking with the media after the award ceremony, the actor shared, “In the past 10 years, there were many friends, producers and people who believed in me. This award is to tell them that they were right in giving me their support.”
Joel continued, “As I had said on the stage, I am on the path to success but I have not succeeded yet. I still need to work hard and will make better dramas in the future. I will act better and repay everyone who supports me.” Joel also thanked his wife’s support.
As Joel’s wife Apple stayed at home with their son, Joel took the opportunity to give her a shoutout, “I want to thank her for giving me such a happy family so I can work hard without worries. I am very grateful and I hope I can use the ward in the future to tell myself to work harder.”
Elena Kong – Best Actress
Elena also did not expect winning the Best Actress Award for her role in Get On a Flat <下流上車族> and placed her bet on Nina Paw (起靜就) or Alice Chan (陳煒) as the night’s winner. Nevertheless, Elena took the opportunity to thank her colleagues, “I also want to thank the other actors in the drama for helping me win the Best Actress award. This is not from the effort of one person. I really need to thank them!”

Even tho I don’t know nor watch most of the winning dramas but BAs awards are going to the right people. Congrats Joel & Eleanna. Also agree on the best dressed award Hera & Nancy. Love both of their dresses and they look stunning. Nancy never fail to pick the right dress for her figure. I love all of her award ceremonies dresses.
@Joyce, Agree, Nancy look really hot in her outfit, hers and Hera’s look sort of similar, so not surprised they both won that category. Elena’s wasn’t too bad either a bit showy haha, good for her though! Glad Get on a Flat won too, great story overall. Guess it shouldn’t be surprised Joel won, he’s in so many dramas that got aired last year.
Andrew Lam (林敏驄) Sure be the winner… Joey… I can’t even watch more than 20 minutes… his acting look fake…
I hope next year Tvb would change the MC to Bob Lam or someone else. Anyone but Jarvis Chow. His 13 minute opening speech was a snoozefest. Maybe he’s good at interviewing people, I don’t know…but he’s awful at MCing. I think it’s too soon for him to MC at such a big ceremony.
I was hoping Andrew Lam (林敏驄) would win the Best Actor but seeing him not on stage, kinda figure out that he would not get the award and apparently TVB forget to invite him to the ceremony. He had to call TVB for the invitation. Tsk tsk tsk.
It was also funny to see Moon Lau nominated in the Most Improved Actress category then later won the award for the Malaysia Favorite TVB Actress.
Ps: I was thrilled to see Michael Tao, Joel Leung & Kenix Kowk coming back to TVB. I want a new TVB drama with 3 of them.
