Despite being forced to postpone her study plans, Kate does not intend to return to acting.
Turning 40 last year, former Miss Hong Kong winner Kate Tsui (徐子珊) announced her plans to quit the entertainment industry and move to Europe to further her studies. Graduating with a psychology degree from Hong Kong University, Kate was forced to shelve her plans to study in Europe due to the onset of the pandemic.
Unswayed by Filming Invites
Leaving TVB in 2015, Kate subsequently filmed Shaw Brothers’ 2018 drama Guardian Angel <守護神之保險調查> along with Michael Miu (苗僑偉). She had been actively pursuing other interests, including starting her own jewelry business and continuing her studies.
Despite having expressed her wish to sell off her car and housing assets in Hong Kong to put her past behind, Kate appeared well-prepared for the exorbitant expenses in Europe where she had made plans to live. The financially-savvy actress had earlier acquired a two-room Residence Bel-Air apartment in 2010, and its market value has already risen by an estimated $20 million Hong Kong dollars.
While the television station and several other production houses have approached her with attractive collaboration opportunities, Kate turned down all invites of public appearances and filming requests so far, preferring to keep out of the limelight. Her social media accounts have not been updated for some time, while she has also deleted her previous Instagram profile.
Grocery Shopping Alone
Spotted at a local supermarket recently, Kate sported a sleek figure and looked immaculately dressed in a camel-colored coat with a matching face mask. She donned European brands from head to toe and wore a diamond ring on one hand. Besides rubbing her hands with sanitizer several times, she intentionally took a detour to avoid the shopping crowds who gathered, before heading to the gourmet bread section.
