  1. For both series you can see better costumes and great locations, especially for With Or Without You with what looks like an Authentic So Dong Po location! Very impressive. Maybe China comes with package plan; scenery, costumes AND plenty of extras to walk up and down. Impressive.

Story wise, so far both have stories that has yet to be mapped out, especially With Or Without You and hopefully less or no spoilers. Acting wise, both have good and bad points but so far, these 2 series are entertaining and impressive. Hopefully TVB doesn’t “Craptise” them.

    1. @funnlim are you able to tell me on how to watch With or Without You with english subs? or do you understand the language? Been watching too much tragic period dramas so I want to watch something that has a good laugh and really light-hearted.

      1. @riceball120 I understand Cantonese. It is playing on local TV so there is malay subs which I can understand as well. There might be fansub somewhere although I am not sure any fans rushing to sub this series.

      2. @funnlim ah okay, thank you for replying. gosh, not understanding the language is already awful. trying to find English subs is almost beyond impossible.

  2. Did anybody notice that we are always observing the same cast? Matt Yeung have been appearing in Sau Kwai Waa, COD and now Lord Of Shanghai. And for 5-6 consecutive dramas, all are period drama? In the past, period drama used to be rare and always the highlight of audience and most of the time one of the best show in the year…

  3. Def. watching “with or without you!” Love Bobby and Joey. LOS, I will pass… but will grab for my Mom as she love these kind of drama.

  4. I love Bobby so much but after finish watching Joey Meng in Officer Geomancer I really don’t like her acting. Maybe when I was little I thought she was pretty but never thought she was a great actress. Is anyone here not a die hard fan of hers that recommends this drama?

    1. @kaykay408 She is a far better actress than a whole lotta actresses out there. That series is not her best but other than that she is a very good actress unless you hate her voice or the way she speaks.

  5. Kaykay408 Joey is a good actor not the best but better then all the noobs Tvb promoting I would recommend u give it a try I mean it’s ok so far and it’s a comedy u might like it

    1. @sherla1019 I still have a very special place in my heart for the Bobby and Esther onscreen couple so just the thought of seeing Bobby onscreen pairing with Joey Meng making me not wanting to watch it. Maybe I’ll give it a try for Bobby. Thank you 🙂

  6. My oh my! How low has TVB’s expectations sunk? LOS with the combined “pulling power ” of multiple award winner Anthony, 3-time tv king Wayne and old tiger Ken Tong only managed 26 pts on average? And that is considered good? It isn’t much better than the preceding 2 anniversary dramas which has a “lesser ” known cast esp COD which has 2 noobs in starring role (but of cos we know who’s the person pulling in the viewers ). Anthony better take a reality check and get off his high horse. Wayne’s dramas also no longer pull in viewers like before. Overachievers and that 2013 law drama with Moses are good examples.
