Ron Ng is Not Mr. Right; Kelly Fu is Dating a Wealthy Heir

Kelly Fu (傅嘉莉), known primarily for her dating rumors with Ron Ng (吳卓羲), was recently caught on a date with the son of a wealthy barrister.

While filming Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲宵II>, several reports claimed that Kelly had a serious crush on Ron. In May, Kelly further fueled the rumors when she talked endlessly about Ron’s special, romantic gestures on set, and made ambiguous responses when asked about their relationship status. Later, Kelly personally stated that she and Ron had just begun dating, and said that she is open to developing a more serious relationship. While Kelly seemed certain about her place in Ron’s life, Ron however had repeatedly denied the gossips, saying that he has not spoken with Kelly since filming ended. Ron also became increasingly frustrated over the rumors in recent months, and even went as far as saying that he had not, is not, and will not date Kelly under any and all circumstances.

Although Kelly expressed hurt and disappointment over Ron’s response, it turns out that she has been dating someone else all along. On August 5, Hong Kong magazine Oriental Sunday exposed Kelly’s current boyfriend, Charles (羅博文). Kelly and Charles have reportedly been dating for the past six months. Charles is revealed to be the son of Robert George Kotewall (羅正威), a wealthy and prominent barrister and owner of a private law firm in Central. Charles himself also carries an impressive résumé, having worked for many well-known global investment companies.

The press first noticed the pair on July 25, as they left Charles’s Causeway Bay home together to meet up with friends for dinner. A few days later, Charles was seen visiting Kelly’s home at night and did not leave until the next morning. The same day, Kelly met with Charles once again after leaving a promotional event. Charles spent a long time speaking on the phone, ignoring Kelly. She became upset, and Charles had to spend some time to calm her down. Afterwards the couple continued their evening without further incident.

When asked to confirm her dating status, Kelly shared that she likes to befriend foreigners and feels that she and Charles have good chemistry together. When confronted about Charles spending the night at her home, Kelly said, “He was at my home. I can’t remember what time he left. I will speak more after I have seen the photos.”

Kelly then praised Charles’s talent, although declining to discuss him further. When asked if TVB had banned her from making her relationship public, Kelly replied, “No. Relationships involve more than just one person. The other person may want to remain low-profile. Also, I will continue to film for TVB in the future. TVB doesn’t want [its artists] to be involved in unrelated gossips.”
