Son Ye Jin Braces for Life After “Thirty-Nine”

Starring Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun, JTBC’s female-centered series Thirty-Nine will premiere on February 16. Faced with the reality of almost turning 40, the three women are challenged by various changes in their lives including family, work, and love.

High school best friends Cha Mi Jo, Jeong Chan Young, and Jang Joo Hee reflecting on their lives and sharing growing anxieties about their future as they wrap up the last year of their 30s. Considering each other to be closer than family, they are distressed when one of them is diagnosed with a terminal illness. The news threatens to crush all their hopes of being together forever.

Ye Jin plays Mi Jo, the beautiful and wealthy director of a dermatology clinic in Gangnam. Growing up in a supportive family, Mi Jo warmly embraces life with all her loved ones.

Mi Do portrays Chan Young, who gave up her dreams of becoming an actress and works as an acting teacher. While often misunderstood because of her blunt personality, Chan Young has a soft heart and is greatly cherished for her honesty and sincerity.

Ji Hyun plays Joo Hee, the timid and cautious department store cosmetics manager who has yet to experience a romantic relationship, but soon finds herself pursued by someone who is willing to teach her the meaning of love.

With a total of 12 episodes, Thirty-Nine is scheduled to air every Wednesday and Thursday on JTBC and Netflix.
