In South Korean drama Jirisan, Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon become park rangers and take the audience to the awe-inspiring landscape of Jirisan, the country’s national park. While the park is full of natural hazards, the characters soon face a new danger that has a murderous intent.
On the mountain, Seo Yi Kang (Jun Ji Hyun) and Kang Hyun Joo (Joo Ji Hoon) are assigned to search for a missing grandma and a soldier. Unfortunately, the grandma passed away before being located but the rangers made it just in time to find the soldier. Although the two missing persons are unrelated, it has been discovered that both experienced signs of poisoning after consuming a bottle of yakult from a stranger. It appears someone on the mountain is actively trying to harm other hikers.
In a time skip to 2020 two years in the future, Seo Yi Kang is performing an investigation on who is maliciously targeting visitors. Her investigation leads her to a bloodied ribbon on the desk of her director. Complicating the investigation, Seo Yi Kang discovers the logs of all the victims that have gone missing in the last two years and the dates align to the director’s vacation days.
Back to the present time, the park rangers are investigating a married couple suspected of illegal snake poaching and Hyun Joo sees a vision of a mysterious figure placing a bomb in the vicinity. However, Hyun Joo is too late to respond and the husband perishes from the explosion. The accident shocked leaves everyone in shock as they rush to find the perpetrator.
