Tavia Yeung and Priscilla Wong Film “Black Moonlight”

Returning to TVB in Black Moonlight <黑色月光>, Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯) started filming the drama in Shenzhen. She will be facing off Rosina Lam (林夏薇) who plays the antagonist.

This is Tavia’s first drama with TVB since leaving seven years ago. Tavia mentioned she has been prepping her 3-year-old daughter “Little Pearl” for her extended absence due to work. “I’ve been reassuring her, briefing her every day on what’s going to happen. She knows Mommy has to earn money so she can go to school, and Daddy has to earn money so she can buy toys. I’m happy and excited to work with an actor as good as Vincent Wong (王浩信)!”

It has been 11 years since Vincent last worked with Tavia in 2012’s Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles <名媛望族>. He said, “We didn’t have many scenes together back then, so it’s like our first time officially working together.”

Vincent added, “The best thing about this drama is there are no clear good or evil characters, but rather every action you take has its cause and effect. Each episode is packed with so many details and it’s very suspenseful–I had to chase them down for scripts! I’m very lucky to be able to film such a great drama with a great crew and director. I hope that not only Hong Kong, but audiences from other places will also like this drama.”

The next challenge for Vincent is to stay in top physical shape as he is still filming Chinese drama Stealing Time <黃雀> alongside Qin Lan (秦嵐) and Lu Xiaolin (呂曉霖). He shared he does not have any screen time with Qin Lan, but has many scenes with leading actors Guo Jingfei (郭京飛) and Lu Xiaolin. “They are both outstanding actors in China so I’m very happy; I can learn a lot of different things. It’s also a very interesting and high-quality drama.”

Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) and Griselda Yeung (楊卓娜) will reportedly play Tavia’s two sisters. Priscilla’s last drama was Battle of the Seven Sisters <七公主> in 2020. Priscilla declined dramas and promotions due to personal reasons, later citing  she had a family member going through health issues and she wanted to spend more time together. Although Priscilla did not film any dramas, she resumed her past job as a travel host, producing and hosting Here We Go, Off The Beaten Roads <膽粗粗．HERE WE GO > which received good ratings and response. Commenting on her new role in Black Moonlight, Priscilla was surprised the producer reached out to her given that it has been awhile since she filmed a drama. She praised the script for being well written and the character will be a challenge. “The character sounds interesting; it’s a role I’ve never done before.”
