Vicky Chan Temporarily Ousted from “Come Home Love: Lo and Behold”

TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold <·回家之開心速遞> features many popular on-screen couples like Vicky Chan (陳偉琪) and Hoffman Cheng (鄭世豪), who plays Jenny and Max respectively. However, Vicky’s character has recently left for the United States, which explains the absence of her role in the sitcom. Sources believe that TVB froze the Canadian Chinese actress for her past misconducts, which include her DUI arrest last October and passionate acts with another man behind her boyfriend’s back this year.

In an interview, Vicky expressed that TVB has not given her work these past few months because of the sitcom’s plot development. When asked when she’ll return to her role as Jenny and whether TVB will give her other work, she said, “I don’t know. I will wait for the company’s arrangement.”

Given that she has more time on her hands now, she mainly spends her time on her fashion and beauty blog, where she films short videos advertising various beauty products. Vicky also revealed that she has new developments, which she will share in the future.

Hoffman on Vicky’s Absence

In regards to Vicky’s sudden departure from the show, Hoffman believes that the plot from his new music video “Only You Can Call Me Foolish” <只准你話我是傻>, featuring the Jenny and Max couple, could have caused misunderstanding among viewers. He expressed that the audience might have thought Jenny was leaving for good after watching the music video. He said, “In the sitcom, she just left for a while because she is scared to see me. I think people might have misunderstood when they watched the music video since it’s about our relationship.”

Hoffman added that he would have to ask the production team about the reason for Vicky’s temporary absence. Though Vicky’s role has faded out, Hoffman disclosed that nothing has changed because the episodes are now focused on the conflicts within the Wai Lung Company. He said, “Although there is no love line at the moment, there is still family and friendship.”

He also continued to joke that his love for Jenny will never die, and fans who miss the on-screen relationship can watch the music video in the meantime.

Echoing Hoffman, Come Home Love: Lo and Behold producer Lin Jian Xiang (林建祥) assured viewers that Vicky is just gone temporarily, as it’s common for the characters to go to various islands in the show. “She should return after a while,” he expressed.

Her character in that drama is so bipolar, as if the writer couldn’t make up their mind about the direction of the character.
