Vincent Wong Wants to Keep “Barrack O’Karma” Viewers for His Show

Starring Vincent Wong (王浩信) and Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), the TVB anniversary drama The Man Who Kills Trouble <解決時> will succeed the primetime slot currently occupied by the critically successful Barrack O’Karma <金宵大廈>, which ends on October 12.

“I hope we get to keep the momentum!” said Vincent. Barrack O’Karma, which stars Joel Chan (陳山聰) and Selena Lee (李施嬅) as individuals whose fates are intertwined with a supernatural apartment building, is currently one of the Hong Kong’s highest-rated dramas of the year, and also one of TVB’s most critically-successful television series in recent years.

As for taking over Barrack O’Karma’s timeslot, Vincent said he does feel some pressure. “I just hope the viewers will like our new show.”

The Man Who Kills Trouble stars Vincent as a former hitman turned security guard who has a knack of solving “impossible” situations. Though the new drama has crime and police elements, Vincent doesn’t think that the source material is too sensitive to be broadcast at this time. “A lot of things happen on the show. I play two different roles: a teacher and a problem solver.”

A portion of the show is set in Australia, where Vincent’s character Karson was a triad hitman. “Those elements were rather dark,” he shared.

Vincent looks forward to the premiere date for his new show, expressing that he feels grateful and honored for the opportunity to take part in an anniversary drama, adding that he finds his partnership with Natalie to be refreshing.

Natalie expressed, “It’s been a few years since I’ve last partnered up with Vincent, and this time our relationship is very different. We don’t like each other at the start.”

The TV Queen shared that she doesn’t have any intimate scenes with Vincent, saying, “We have a very complicated relationship. There are obstacles preventing us from being together.”

Natalie plays a reserved music teacher with an “interesting” background.
