Yang Zi and He Ge Star in “Born to Be Alive”

Netizens are excited to see Yang Zi (楊紫) and He Ge (胡歌) collaborate in upcoming drama Born to Be Alive <生命树>. The two artistes have started filming and look nearly unrecognizable in their costumes.

Born to Be Alive follows the story of the captain of Qinghai-Tibet Highway project as they adopt a lost little girl, Bai Ju (played by Yang Zi). When Bai Ju grows up, she becomes a policewoman and work alongside Duo Jie (play by He Ge) to overcome obstacles to protect her homeland. In their midst of establishing a nature reserve, Dou Jie was murdered and Bai Ju has to team up with her allies to catch the culprit.

Playing as a policewoman, Yang Zi drives a truck to patrol the mountains. Providing a narration in the trailer, Yang Zi shares, “Where I was born, I can see snow-capped mountains. Look as far as you can see, this is our home.”

Meanwhile, He Ge forgoes his elegant image and dons a full beard while wearing a weathered coat and holding a shot gun. With a firm look in his eyes, He Ge conveys strength as he works towards defending the natural landscape. In the trailer, He Ge narrates, “Every year from May to July, a large number of Tibetan antelopes migrate here to give birth.”

Filming in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with an altitude of 4,000 meters, Yang Zi and Hu Ge have to endure the harsh local climate such as sandstorms, blizzards and freezing temperature. The environment was tough and Yang Zi was spotted breathing on oxygen to overcome altitude sickness. Despite the difficulties, Yang Zi and He Ge filmed with professionalism and fans can’t wait to see the two artistes in the drama.
