Fala Chen and Sit Sai Hang Wearing Matching Wedding Bands

Caption: Fala Chen and Sit Sai Hang appear to be wearing wedding rings, revealing their marital status.

Rumors abound that 28-year-old Fala Chen may have secretly wed 32-year-old Sit Sai Hang in the United States in 2008. The couple is often spotted together, publicly displaying their mutual affection. It may be a matter of time before the couple openly acknowledges their marital status!

On January 21st, Fala brought Sit Sai Hang to attend a church sermon delivered by Sheren Tang Shui Man. After filming No Regrets <巾帼枭雄之義海豪情>, Fala and Sheren became good friends. Hoping to expose Sai Hang to the Christian faith, Fala brought him to Sheren’s sermon. Allegedly, Sai Hang’s mother, Mrs. Sit, was a devout Buddhist. Despite this, the strongly principled Fala followed her own Christian beliefs and “challenged” her “mother-in-law’s” family religious practices.

At the church, Fala and Sai Hang greeted their friends. It appears that it was not the first time that the couple have attend the church’s events. Reporters spotted Fala and Sai Hang wearing what may possibly be their wedding bands (although the rings were not placed on the traditional wedding fingers), inadvertently revealing the fact that the pair may be married!

In 2008, Sit Sai Hang visited Fala at TVB City during a filming break. Fala introduced Sai Hang to TVB executive, Virigina Lok Yi Ling at that time, causing many people to speculate that Fala announced her marital status to Ms. Lok at the time.

Excerpt from Face Magazine

Jayne: The photos show that Fala and Sit Sai Hang did not wear the rings on the traditional wedding fingers and we can’t see the design of Fala’s ring that closely. However, Sit Sai Hang’s ring really resembles that of a typical wedding band, so I really believe that they are married! In their photos together, Fala and Sai Hang exude such a comfortable and easy intimacy with each other.

I am very happy for them if their marriage is indeed true. Sit Sai Hang is quite handsome!

  1. Sit Sai Hang kind of reminds me of Benjamin Yuen at same angles. I do think Fala got a great catch since he is rich, successful, good looking, and most importantly they seem to understand each other very much and are very compatible with each other. They seem to be in a stable relationship even with her rise in popularity, and does not seem to get involved in too much gossips, which is great. Sit Sai hang tends to like to keep a low profile and it seems like the media likes him overall and does not bash them or say any negative towards their relationship(unlike Barbie and Xiao Feng), with of the exception of claiming that they are married. I’m sure if they are, the truth will come out very soon. Even Charlene and Ronald’s marriage was revealed by the media, so I’m sure the media will be able to find something to prove it if it were true.

  2. Fala looks a bit different in the pictures above.

Blessings to them if they’re really married.

    1. I agree. The above pics show a face relatively free of makeup. She looks good though. Still pretty just less glamorous. Her bf is handsome haha. They look really good together.

  3. Best wishes to them and hopefully they can just admit it already since I don’t see the point in hiding it anymore…People will just be happy for them and send them their good wishes so what is the big deal??

I don’t think Fala should try to force her faith on Sai Hang like that. If she really loves and respects him, his mom and family, she should not do that. She should let him believe in what he wants to believe. I feel that it is so wrong to use that fact that someone loves you just to make them convert into your religion and beliefs. I think Sai Hang’s mom would not allow him to convert to Christianity if she is a devout Buddhist.

    1. If his mother does not “allow” him to convert, isn’t that force as well?

I agree that you should not pressure someone you love to convert, however, there is nothing wrong with introducing a different faith to your loved one. The bit about Fala pressuring him is pure speculation. No way, reporters would no about something like that.

      1. LMAO, I was so sure I was about to be proven wrong – I still don’t believe they are married – thne it turns out to be a fluke anyway. The supposedly wedding rings are not worn on the traditional fingers, but most importantly the pictures are so far from being clear enough for people to say they are matching.

      2. Well, that is his “mom” not just any person…His mom raised him but yea, even his mom should not force him to believe in what he doesn’t either. But yea, I guess I should not assume that she is forcing her beliefs on him. However, if he is attending events with her then she should attend Buddhist events with her. Honestly, from what I know, Buddhists are pretty flexible while I am not sure if Christians are like that…

    2. I agree that she should not force her faith on him if she really loves and respects him and his family. However, just because he’s going to church with her doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s forcing it on him. If her faith is really important to her, I don’t see anything wrong with his attending church events with her. In fact, I think it’s quite admirable. Plus, it might help them understand each other better.

But it is a two-way street. She should also be open to attending Buddhist events with him. If she expects him to be flexible, I hope she is flexible with her beliefs as well.

    3. Nowhere in the article did it said Fala force her faith on Sai Hang. Exposing her faith to Sai Hang does not equal to forcing.

      1. Buddhists are flexible but not Christians in that regard since they can’t pray to idols. But then no one is asking them to pray, just asking them to tag along.

Exposing is hardly forcing. Forcing is when you must convert before marriage, whether by forced choice or in Malaysia, by LAW.

  4. why hongkong celebrity is so afraid of admitting they are a couple. What is so wrong of being seen together? Sometimes I hate people with such a hypocrite. they always they don’t like of being taking pictures by the paparazzi.

If it is not for the paparazzi to take their picture how can they get their publicity. In my opinion, just let it be the more you try to hide the more the paparazzi wants to find out.

    1. Totally agree and I hate it when they are constantly caught red handed but are still lying. Why don’t they just openly admit it so that they can go out freely and do as they please. I find it uncomfortable to have to hide this and that when you are going out in public.

  5. Is this what women without make up really look like? Makeup should never be introduced this world!! It deceives both parties involved! Disappointed with fala. You may think i’m naive but i rather see the girls without makeup before i go in for the kill.

    1. Thumbs up to u Darren!!! haha ur the kind i am looking for..most people/guys to be exact go for the make up girls 🙁

      1. Most guys do not go for make up girls. They go for pretty girls. Darren only want to see the girls without make up because he doesn’t want to go for a pretty girl and then finds out that she’s not actually pretty sans make up. 😛

      2. It depends on the guy… A lot of guys go for pretty girls because they have make up on. However, without it… a different story… I have seen that once a person gets used to and dependent on makeup they just cannot be without it or else they will look pale and not as good as they normally do.

I think some guys do want a girl with natural beauty. But sadly that is rare these days because most girls/women wear make up. Make up damages your skin in the long term so the more women/girls use make up the more dependent they are on it.

      3. “I think some guys do want a girl with natural beauty.”

All guys want natural beauty if they have to choose between natural beauty and make up beauty and both look as beautiful. The key word is ‘beauty’.

      4. Oh no! The keyword is not beauty, natural, made up, surgery or other wise BUT SLIM

        Most guys wants SLIM girls

      5. LoL @ Funn

I don’t know about slim being the utmost important…what if the body was slim but the face is not much at all to brag about? If the body was a little chubby but the face was considered pretty or cute, she’d probably still be attractive to most guys. I’m in America, I know in Asia, weight is def important.

I think most guys like the natural look, even if it’s achieved with makeup, they still like it. Just as long as he doesn’t wake up to a hag in the morning, anyway.

    1. Everybody looks different without make up these days. Korean celebrities one upped many by looking different from just high school picture and present picture and I am not talking about baby fat. But very brave of her to walk out without make up. Hair looks shiny.

Which shows those pictures with her looking beautiful and natural… it takes loads of make up to look natural.

      1. This really reminds me of what my aunt told me recently. She said that she usually watches celebs performing on DVD and thinks that they look due to the make up and lighting. However, she went to a live concert and then met them backstage and was sooo disappointed. She said that they looked pretty ugly and had bad skin… I guess celebs do just look like normal citizens minus the make up and everything else…

      2. @HeTieShou; But I also always hear fans say that they look prettier than on tv when they meet them in person

      1. No wonder she looks so different in the above pictures than her typical self. BUt then again, she may still have some make up on, however, maybe not as much as she normally does. I honestly don’t know if any celebs are brave enough to go out in public without any make up at all…

      2. @Star,
Really??I am not sure since I have never met any celebs in real life. However, based on what I have heard from my aunts, friends and others, they have said that they looked better on TV or in pictures instead of real life. I am thinking that is the case on TV and in pictures you can hide a lot of flaws with the lighting, air bushing and other factors. But in person, you can only hide so much since they are face to face with you.

      3. @HeTieShou; Yea.. Most fans always, like from reading forums, blogs, or real people I know say that they look alot better than onscreen. Sometimes on the streets when the celebs are doing a “food” show or something, there will be clips where passbyers will tell them, “wahh you in person is prettier than onscreen” (in chinese). and such… But of course.. that’s probably when they are in make-up..

  6. this could explain why fala does not have that much kissing scenes in her series compared with other tvb actresses.

  7. See, she’s just one of us!
Natural beauty is pretty damn rare

  8. She’s still Fala with the same features just that her eyes aren’t as pretty and look smaller and her skin not as glowing. Her hair is still nice.

    1. i agree, fala’s skin is just a little duller looking… she still looks the same, still pretty. I never thought she was gorgeous to begin with.

      1. Really??I think she looks like a different person… I think she looks pretty with make up, but without it… different story… She looks just like the average person.

  9. Oh please, we dun need another evangelist to convert ppl to their faith! Buddhism is not a religion. it is a school of thought that teaches ppl to the path of enlightenment and become in harmony with the universe. Unlike Christians who us scare tactics to convert ppl to their faith. “You are going to hell if u dun believe in God”. What a load of crap! Fala should just sock it and leave the husband alone!

    1. I agree that Buddhism is actually more of a philosophy of life rather than an actual religion. One thing that I do like about Buddhists is that they never force anyone to follow their faith and believe that you should only follow at your own will.

I guess I assumed that Fala was forcing her husband to follow her faith because I have seen that a lot of with the Christians that I know. They are sooo religious that it scares me. It’s like their religion means the world to them and they base every aspect of their life on it. Therefore, I find it hard for them to marry anyone without forcing them to convert.

    2. Theoretically, Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion. However, in practice, I think it gets interpreted differently by different people, and it’s not-so-different from other religions. There are extremes in every religion. I think generally, Buddhists are more lax in enforcing their faiths, but I know many Buddhist mothers that only want their children to marry other Buddhists, or insist on a Buddhist ceremony, or want their grandchildren raised Buddhist, etc.

  10. Props to Darren. You are quite smart. If you fall for a woman who is naturally beautiful, with make-up, she will look even more stunning. Rather than someone who sends you fleeing once the make-up if off. I heard once on a HK radio talk show that HK girls nowadays look all alike because of all the make-up they put on to enhance themselves.
I think Fala looks great in the picture. We probably are just not used to seeing her without make-up, but that is how she looks when she wakes-up LOL. Her features are still the same, and that is important, that is the core of the beauty. Make-up is just an enhancer. And nothing wrong with being married and acting. Must be so exhausting to always try to hide. Hollywood stars are not afraid to announce their other half, even if it’s their 3rd, 4th, 5th etc… LOL

    1. Jayzemine, agree that Fala still has beautiful features. In the photo above, she looks tired and her skin is not as vibrant. Make-up makes her look more glamorous and makes her features pop more.

The typical heavy make-up that an artist wears also dulls the skin long-term.

  11. Most girls do look VERY different without make up. It’s kinda scary when a girl takes her make up off you’d be like…WTF happened to your face?!?!
    But as for Fala…
I think she still looks normal. Her skin just isn’t glowing but rarely can anyone naturally have glowing skin. She just looks like she needs some sleep. Quite understandable for an actress.

  12. She looks really old without make-up… almost like an old granny. But I think we are just all used to seeing Fala with makeup, like if we knew her personally and was used to seeing her without makeup, we wouldn’t have this reaction. I Still think she is a pretty girl.

    1. Yeah – pretty horrific w/o make up!

i think kate tsui is one of the few that looks good w/o make up.

      1. I think linda looks good without makeup either.. I mean at least there isn’t such a big difference.. Linda usually doesn’t have such heavy makeup on anyways. She posts pictures of herself on her weibo without makeup.

      2. @Kidd – Lol, your link had a picture of Kate. That was the same one i saw in a magazine a few years ago.

What did you think? pretty good w/o make up eh?

      3. Yeah, she looks pretty good without make up

Looking at the other pictures, Ada also still look good without make up.

  13. for a 28 yr old, in that one photo, she seems to have aged significantly, more like 38 yr old. i guess few girls nowadays look good naturally.

funny in her new show, she was a gold digger type at the beginning, and in real life, she’s set – she succeeded in hooking a nice rich man. she has taste, i give her that, not like those actresses that got with some old grandpas for their money.

fala is lucky. not many like her that can have both love, money, and career.

  14. I think the quality of the mags also take a part. She dun look too bad in the pictures.

  15. Tt’s true that without make up she looks older than what we usually see. With makeup she looks glowing, young and has fresh eyes. Her eyes look small after they took all the fake eyelashes.

She’s still pretty and has nice body.

  16. This is so unfair. I’m looking at a site that show male actors without make up. They still look good!

But, I doubt some of the pictures are really the actors without make up. They look the same as when they are onscreen.

Some pictures of stars without make up. I think it depends very much on the picture taken. I remember seeing another picture of Cecilia without make up and she doesn’t look as bad.

    The guys
    http://newhouse.wuxi.soufun.com/2010-02-12/3091778.htm

    1. They look similar, except less glamarous. Maybe we are so used to seeing them with make up and blow dry hair and all we just can’t get used to their ordinary fresh faces. Those who looks good without make up are those

      1. young
      2. have great skin already

      1. And even some still have make up on, foundation, lip gloss so strictly speaking not really bare faced

      2. Totally agree with you Funn. I have seen a lot of pix of actresses that claim to have no make up on and a lot of them don’t look so great. However, the ones that do look decent/pretty are ones like you said, are young and already have nice skin. But I think it is sad that they always have to wear make up since it will mess up their skin in the long run.

    2. Thanks for the links! Ok,I think it also depends on the lighting and the angle that a particular picture is taken. I think anyone who becomes dependent on make up will never look as good as they did before they started using it.

  17. Reading a longer version of this news in FACE 周刊. The Buddhist sect old Mrs.Sit belongs to is not your usual Mahayana, Theravada, or Tibet Buddhism. She belongs to Soka Gakkai, a Buddhist Sect originated from Japan. I’ve read their teachings when my friends introduced it to me. Quite different from the Buddhism I know. But, the organisation not bad. Do a lot of charity and social work including promoting environmental preservations.

  18. She doesn’t look great or pretty in them pics. And to blame the quality of the mag?!?

Don’t tell me she doesn’t look like a typical Chinese girl working in china town! Makes me think that if everyone were given a full makeover, we could all look like her, if not better! HA!

    1. @Suki,
Totally agree with you. I was wondering at first why she looked so different…She looks really old and haggard in the picture where she is waving and smiling. I also wonder that if we all got a full make over how would we all look compared to her??

      1. Fala looks really good with full makeup and stuff, like even better than most of the tvb actresses. But when she has her makeup off.. she looks even worse than the ones that are older than her without makeup.. Like kate tsui for example or Ada choi, who is much older than her.

  19. Star: @HeTieShou; But I also always hear fans say that they look prettier than on tv when they meet them in person

I know for sure that most “male” stars look better in person since they don’t wear much make up on TV.

I’m not sure about “female” stars, unless they’re still wearing make up when fans meet them. Some might be real natural born beauty.

    1. Never ever forget. So called no make up actually entails loads of make up. Only when you see no eyeliner, no foundation, no lip gloss, now that’s no make up.

      1. @Funn,
You bought up a good point since I still wonder if any celebs, especially the females would ever dare to go out in public with absolutely no make up on. I still remember seeing pictures of artists that people say have no make up on. However, I still see eyeliner and some foundation on them even from the pictures. Therefore, I am not sure if that even counts as having no make up on. I guess they count it as no make up because it is a lot less than what they usually wear.

    2. @Masaharu,

My aunt was referring to the guys too, but yea, the guys do look better than the females since the male stars don’t wear as much make up as the females do.

I also wonder if any female stars would dare to meet their fans with absolutely no make up on…I wonder if natural born beauty even exists for artists because they always wear some form of make up…

      1. Yes, they exist. Since you said make up damaged their skin and caused them to be no beautiful, they must be natural born beauty before they started using make up.

I mean, if Fala Chen were young and have flawless skin she most probably look like how she looks on screen since her features look the same. She’s just looking more tired and not as glowing as when she’s on screen.

      2. The new trend of makeup now is natural makeup :). It means you need makeup to look natural, lol. How ironic.

      3. Fox, hehe true that’s why products such as Korean BB cream is so popular. It’s like a tinted moisturizer to cover those imperfections while nourishing our skin with moisturizing and whitening effects. It claims to give off a natural look and marketed as a “cream” rather than as regular make-up, so even non make-up users are interested in using it.

Asian cultures really uphold flawless skin quality in beauty ideals. And using make-up (foundation and powder to cover their face) was somewhat taboo among my group of chinese friends when growing up. There was that sense that natural was better, although we knew that make-up would make us look better. Thinking back now, I don’t know if it was a conscious effort for us to repress our budding sexuality in our high school days. Back then, most of the girls who were wearing full make-up were dating and had boyfriends. I do think that for young teen girls, wearing full make-up emphasizes a more “mature” and” womanly” beauty.

With the Disney Princess phenomen overtaking young little girls and make-up kits sold in the toy aisle, more parents seem to be allowing girls to be waering make-up at a younger age in the USA. Is this a trend in Asia as well?

    1. Some of them look like they did more than make up. They change from round face to oval face. Even the best make up can do that effect. Those can only be achieve with botox. But, I can buy the big eyes make up. They use something to hold the eyes big. Honestly, I really don’t like this kind of eyes. Sure, they look like china dolls, but, they also look fake. Theresa Fu also use this technique. I still prefer her pre make over look.

      1. Tell them to smile, see if their forehead moves. But can botox to that? Or liposuction on the face?

      2. @Kidd,
I think we all honestly wonder if Fala would look like a natural beauty if she did not use make up in the first place???Would she look as good as she does on screen with all of the make up if she was just her natural self?? No one knows now since she has used so much make up for so many years. She is now dependent on it just like everyone else that uses make up on a regular basis. Once, you stop or aren’t using it anymore, your appearance is no longer the same as before you started using it.

    2. That is pretty crazy! Seems like any lady picked out from chinatown can look like an artiste. and I agree with Kidd. the before and after pictures look complete different. Like how some of their noses appears to be pointier, etc. Wow!

      1. Hm.. I wonder if they just used make up?? I bet botox and plastic surgery may have played a part in it too, but of course they would never admit it…

    3. @Sukibusm
THanks so much for the link! WOW,I cannot believe that the before and after pictures are of the same person. I don’t think they only used make up. I bet they did plastic surgery of some kind too. I am not sure if make up can do that much…

    4. Kidd, many of the women are wearing circle contact lenses, which make the eye’s iris appear larger, giving a doll-like effect. Applying eyelid stickers, tons of eyeliner, fake eyelashes and mascara can widen the eyes dramatically. The camera angles in the “after” pictures are also different, in which the women point their chins downwards and eyes upwards, which also enhance the size of their eyes.

Many of the women had bad skin in the pictures. The make-up covered up the bad skin which made a huge difference. The “after” photos looked like professional make-overs with indoor lighting, so it’s hard to say whether there was also photoshop done to minimize the bumpy acne, eyebags etc. found on some women’s skin. If the “after” photos were shot outdoors, perhaps the photos would be less forgiving. Also good hairstyles can do wonders to accentuate facial features more positively.

  20. Well obviously contouring can help give the illusion of a different face shape but some of the girls look a bit too young to have had surgery done.

Some of their makeup reminds me of Angelababy

    1. I was thinking Angelababy when I was looking at the photos too. haha..

  21. It’s hard to blame the ladies for using makeup to enhance their beauty. Society, especially Asian culture puts a lot of pressure on girls to be super thin, have flawless white skin, a nice tall nose, and perfectly round big eyes!

Easy for guys to complain when there is a lot less pressure for them to have all these perfect physical attributes — look at all these TVB dramas where great looking girls are paired with mediocre looking men. Guys complain about girls not having natural beauty and needing to see them with no makeup on before marriage, but they are the ones who have the expectations for girls to look a certain way.

    1. I am not sure if Asian culture encourages girls to wear make up or not. However, in my immediate family using make up was always a big no no since my parents always said that make up damages your skin. IN fact, my parents don’t even allow me to use creams or skin care that often either. They also said that it is bad to use too much of that as well, therefore, I don’t dare use it that much either.

Speaking of the nose, my parents are nose people and love small and pointy noses. THat is their most important feature. I think guys are also pressured to look good too, but maybe not as much as girls are.

      1. Guys are not pressured to look good as much as girls because guys are judged by different criteria. Sure, girls will go gaga over hot guys. But, in society, guys are valued for their brain and their success. Looking good is an advantage for guys too, but they are not as aspected to look good as girls.

Just refer to the various chinese sayings.

才子配佳人 (gifted scholar match beauty girl)
        天妒英才 vs 天妒紅顏
(Heaven is jealous of the gifted and heroic) vs (Heaven is jealous of the beautiful)

天妒英才 is used for men while 天妒紅顏 women.

But, guys have their society expectation to meet. They are expected to be successful and strong and able to support family. Society did not expect this from a woman much.

      2. Nowadays, women are pressure to be both successful in looks and career department. I would say that it is unattractive for a women to be uneducated in today’s society.

  22. @Judy,
I agree with you because I feel in todays society, it is no longer the same as before. I feel that it is just as important for a guy to look good and for a woman to be successful as well. That is why there is the term “house husband” these days. Back in the days, that term did not exist at all. Women are often the breadwinners as well, not just the men.

I think it is a more traditional point of view for the guy to always be the breadwinner while the girl stays home, raises the kids and does the housework. But it is still true to an extent that the girls are more required to look good compared to the guys.
