Raymond Lam to Star in New Drama “Department Six”

Raymond Lam (林峯) and Uyghur actress Dilraba Dilmurat (迪丽热巴) are confirmed to star in Chinese period mystery drama Department Six <六扇门>, which will begin shooting at Hengdian World Studios in March.

Department Six, directed by Wong Chun Man (黄俊文) and Liu Guohua (刘国辉), revolves around a team of imperial prefects and investigators serving in the secretive Department Six, the empire’s elite law enforcement agency. Department Six was also the setting of Woon Swee Oan’s (溫瑞安) wuxia novel, The Four Great Constables <四大名捕>.

Though the cast of Department Six has not been fully revealed, fans were thrilled to know that Raymond and Dilraba would take part in the series. Raymond’s performance in TVB’s The Four <少年四大名捕> – the 2008 adaptation of Woon Swee Oan’s novel – was well-received by both fans of the novel and the original author himself, who said Raymond understood his role, Heartless, very well.

As Department Six and The Four came from similar source material, fans said they hope Raymond would be able to portray his role differently, rather than rehash his old performance as the solemn and quiet Heartless.

  1. Who is a loser who say that he will concentrate in movie only… Haha

    1. The movie. Competition to big for him there’s nick tse and shawn from his generation directors would use first and those guys are better actors

      1. How about Eddie Peng (and tons of others not way up at the peak yet)?

      2. @MW, Eddie Peng is way beyond RL’s level. He has various box office hits to his name, and a Golden Horse Awards nomination. I think he’s probably one of the most sought after actors in their 30s. How is he not at the peak?

      3. “and tons of others not way up near the peak yet”

This part does not refer to Eddie Peng but to the “many others”.

    2. Maybe you didn’t read the entire article?

“In February, he will be traveling to the United States to record a new Mandarin album. In March and April, he will go to Mainland China to film a new wuxia series. In the last half of the year, he will be busy filming movie”

There’s no mention about him “only focusing on films”.

  2. Now we know who is the “real loser” for either not reading the entire article or purposely frame LF for being his hater…stop drinking haterade!!!!

  3. I thought he was supposed to focus on music this year… I guess not, leaving TVB was all planned lol

    1. Obviously! TVB is only a training ground for new actors. Anyone that gains fame would leave in a heartbeat for greener pastures.

    2. If you read the articles, he mentioned clearly that he will spend end of 2014 and beginning of 2015 for his album and then filming series in March to the 6 ending month of 2015 to film movies.

Of course, leaving TVB was well planned.

  4. It would be perfect if Ron was in this drama also!

    1. A credible blogger said that the series will contain one more HK artist. So who know.

I dont mind if 2R reunite. Their chemistry is so good and what else, they are real buddy. Not all ppl in TVB still keep the relationship with someone who left TVB.

  5. Haiz… when can tvb take back it’s grace….
