Thirty-six-year old Ruby Lin (林心如) posted an intimate photograph with thirty-two-year-old Wallace Huo (霍建華) on Weibo, spawning speculations on their relationship. The onscreen lovers’ romance from The Glamorous Imperial Concubine <倾世皇妃> may have been secretly realized off screen! It was rumored that Ruby and Wallace have been living together for 4 years!
Ruby’s friends were quick to bestow their blessings for the couple, after her hugging photo with Wallace circulated on Weibo the day before. Cecilia Cheung’s (張柏芝) makeup artist and good friend, Rick Chin wrote, “Congratulations to the sweet little couple!”
Ruby’s good friend, Shu Qi’s (舒淇) reply also gave away the hot romance between Ruby and Wallace, “You are not in Shanghai when I am there. You are also not in Hengdian when I am there. I think you two did it on purpose!”

Ruby and Wallace’s romance blossomed when they were paired up as lovers in Sound of Colors <地下鐵>, often dressing together in matching clothes and accessories. It was also rumored that they bought a “love nest” in Shanghai and have been secretly living together! They were often spotted buying groceries together and Ruby would visit Wallace at the filming set.
While filming The Glamorous Imperial Concubine last year, Ruby and Wallace were also photographed behaving intimately and playing with each other on the filming set.

Ruby dated Jimmy Lin (林志穎) when they filmed School Days <校園敢死隊> in 1995. Ruby even described Jimmy as more dashing than Takeshi Kaneshiro (金城武). After breaking up with Jimmy, Ruby dated movie director, Stanley Tong (唐季禮) after cooperating on China Strike Force <雷霆戰警>.
When asked what qualities her other half must have, Ruby replied, “Looks are important! He has to be handsome and cannot appear nerdy! He must have a stable career and be financially stable. 4 years is a long time for Wallace Huo and Ruby Lin to hide a celebrity romance! Didn’t anyone know?
Because I don’t think it is 4 years if this is true.
I think she is being playful. She isn’t communicating with him on weibo because he doesn’t have a weibo account, maybe except his studio has one. He is very good friends with him. Maybe I have seen similar pictures so at first I thought this picture is very familiar. His hairstyle is not the new one and he is thinner now so I think this is an old picture. If they’re dating, then it must be after Qing Shi Huang Fei because from what I can see, they seem close but not dating in those BTS. The way she explained in her interview in asking him to film the series does not suggest they’re dating. They both do live in Shanghai as with many actors they both know but being Taiwanese they do gravitate towards one another. Everyone knows for the past 3 months he has been busy filming, so those posts about Ruby being somewhere else with Wallace doesn’t make sense unless it refers to older times.
If they have been spotted buying groceries together, I didn’t see those pictures in forums. I have seen pictures of him having dinners with his manager or friends and also buying groceries.
And at least Wallace will remain silent because he never answers to gossips or rumours. He has been rumoured in the past. Ruby does like handsome men, look at QSHF and I am told she also likes fair men, Wallace fits the bill.
Frankly I don’t believe they’re dating and if they’re definitely not for past 4 years.
However if this is true, I am happy. I am all for this couple. If they marry, can you imagine how beautiful their babies will be? For me this is like Liancheng getting his Fuya. So I hope this is true. From all the pictures I have seen, I didn’t see intimate behaviour. I do see playful behaviour. She knows him after all, they’re both from Taiwan.
Visiting film set is a norm. If this refers to AFTER QSHF when she had to see the producer of the other series he was doing to ask him to free his timetable for promotion of QSHF purposes. Yes there was a rather cute picture of him examining her as a doctor, which she posted on Weibo. How come NO ONE claim such a rumour back then? Matching clothes is true. Fans have made comparisons photos, also the ones with him and Hu Ge.
However this picture in the article is so familiar. I have seen it before. Or is it similar pose?
But the fact that the manager says he doesn’t know anything suggests something is going on. How can manager not know how to deny?

According to Sina, Ruby posted that photo of herself and Wallace brushing heads on her Weibo the day before. The photo could have been taken a long time ago, but the post may have been recent. Artists post dated photos on their blogs all the time.
Ruby may have intended to post photo of Wallace and herself, without anticipation that she will be teased by Rick and Shu Qi. Rumored couples post these photos of themselves all the time, while professing only “friendship.”
I don’t know if this incident is an example of “accidental discovery.”
Also, if Ruby were not involved with Wallace, don’t you think it would be a lot easier and more gracious for her to write back teasing reply to Shu Qi and Rick instead, something along the lines of: “Wallace is my brother only!”

They don’t need this hype. So this is old picture I think. There can be many reasons why she is not replying to them. And obviously she doesn’t see him as her brother. That is tacky. Funn, you raise some good points. But friendship can always turn into realization of love at later point. Look at Stephen Fung and Shu Qi, friends for 15 years and now the start of love rumors. The celebrities can always claim they are only friends and nothing more of course.
However, it does take a lot of effort for celebrities to see each other frequently due to busy filming schedules. Sometimes for a male and female celebrity to spend a lot of solo time together indicates a close bond that may be more than friendship. Such as Stephen Fung traveling with Shu Qi and her mother to Tokyo.

3 years should be logical. I feel if true this must be AFTER that series not before or during. When was it filmed? 2010? But living together is a bit too much. He is rather conservative from his interviews so I suppose if true it should be recently.
I don’t dispute some relationship is slow burn. I want this to be true though. But again the time and some facts bothers me. Other than that also Ruby’s preference. If she liked handsome men, her past relationship with is it Stanley Tong, is he handsome? So maybe she is sick of being 2nd fiddle and now finds someone on equal footing. I disagree. I actually have a good impression of her out of camera. She seems spunky and spontaneous and watching BTS I find her very friendly and fun to be around. One of those very few actresses that I don’t find pretentious.

In the selective Taiwan talk shows and articles I read, together with the tv host(ess)she always made snide remarks and poked fun at the backwardness of mainland and its people. But turn around she acted accordingly during mainland talk shows. That’s why I did not have a good impression of her then thinking her superficial and ungracious to the mainlanders.
But that was then. Early impression is often difficult to shake off, and that is the case with my impression with Ruby.

He didn’t cover his son. Just that he doesn’t announce publicly and when he was asked, he admitted he has a son and said nothing more. From paparazzi pics and Chen Kun weibo posting, he has a healthy relationship with his son.

Chen Kun stance has always say that You You is his son (for all that matters), it’s just that he will not answer whether he is biological or not. But he never say that You You is adopted.
I don’t know where you read those articles, but from my previous reading of articles that say You You is adopted, those are just tabloid speculations. Chen Kun never say so.
Also in the clip there was a segment of older interview in 2008 where he acknowledge You You as his son, and he refused to clarify You You origin. He never said adopted. He has been consistent for the past few years.

Maybe we are seeing different pictures but Ruby is 36 and at HDTV she still looks pretty, flawless sort of skin, and younger than her age. Some actress not yet 30 already look used. She still looks fresh although not as young as she was which is the usual.
Wallace Huo is only 34 and he has great skin to begin with. His problem is he doesn’t take care nor care about his skin. And you may think he looks old because he has very old-ish behaviour with the way he stands and all. But with some make up or on his best day when he does take care of his skin, if he opens his eyes bigger a bit, gain a bit of weight, his face can stand through the difficult test of HDTV. He is simply gorgeous on screen and the camera loves him. Out of camera is a different matter. And on such good days, he looks younger than his actual age but not much. And male actors don’t want to look younger; with age, lines and crow feet comes the illusion of a veteran actor and that is what he actually wants.
I believe Wallace Chung is older than Wallace, and yes he does look good but I haven’t seen him in actual Hi Def TV so I can’t comment. But each man whilst sharing the same english name is so different. One fair, one dark, one young, one older, etc so to compare is not fair.
Certain angle Wallace Huo looks like Aaron Kwok or Louis Koo, certain angle that is him. The thing with Wallace Huo is I can never pinpoint his looks. But I can certainly pin point that furrowed forehead or whatever you call that look.
As actors, I personally feel Wallace is better at being tragic. Wallace Chung… the last time I saw him was in Royal Tramp and frankly I didn’t think much of him. Nowadays he might be different. All I know is these 2 men have huge fanbase, each to his or her own and I notice never any fan ever mistaken between one Wallace and another even in forum posts. Which to me speaks volumes how individual they are and that is a cause for celebration.

Actually Wallace Huo is not 34 yet. He was born in 1979 so he should be 33 not 34. Wallace Chung was born in 1974 so he is 38 and is 5 years older than Wallace Huo. Ruby packs on tons of make up most of the time so of course her skin will look flawless. In Feng Shen bang,she wore really thick makeup.
As for acting, I have seen wallace Chung a lot and in a variety of roles so he is a good actor. I have seen him even more than Wallace Huo, but have seen wallace huo enough to know that he is talented as well. I guess it is hard not to compare them at times or get them confused due to them both having the same English name. I often confuse Raymond Wong and Raymond Cho, but never confuse them with Raymond lam for some odd reason.
Jimmy Lin has aged A LOT… He sort of has that baby face, but not really… I don’t feel he has aged that well at all.. I used to be a big fan of his and really see how much he has aged. Wallace Chung ages better than he did.
