Lisa On The Relationships She Couldn’t Make Public

BLACKPINK member Lisa has been publicly linked to Frédéric Arnault, the third son of LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, in recent years, with signs pointing to a possible breakup in 2026. Set to release her upcoming solo documentary Always Lalisa, Lisa revealed during promotional activities that she could only date secretly while BLACKPINK was promoting as a group, and disclosed that she had previously released a song inspired by someone she was dating.

Song Inspired by an Ex

In the documentary, Lisa candidly admitted that dating remains somewhat taboo within K-pop culture. As a member of a hugely popular girl group, Lisa admitted that she had been in several relationships when she was younger, but each time, she had to keep the relationship private and low-key. “I don’t want my relationship to be the reason BLACKPINK’s popularity goes down,” she said.

In addition to discussing the pressure surrounding idols’ romantic relationships, Lisa also revealed the story behind her song Dream in the documentary. She explained that the song, which was included on her 2025 solo album “Alter Ego”, was inspired by a secret relationship. Before officially releasing the song, she specifically contacted the person involved again to ask for their permission to publish it.

The person, however, made one condition: they hoped Lisa would not allow fans to uncover their true identity. Lisa explained, “People think they’ve figured out [the person’s identity], but I don’t think so.”

Her comment has only made the public more curious about who the “mysterious lover” behind the song really is.

Love Life Remains in the Spotlight

Filled with melancholy and longing, Dream‘s lyrics include lines such as, “Every time I close my eyes, it takes me back to the past,” “Every time I miss you, I will call you, but you don’t pick up,” and “Maybe I’ll see you in my dreams.” Toward the end, she asks, “Can we at least be friends?”

The lyrics convey a lingering attachment to a past relationship, prompting even greater curiosity about the real story behind the song.

Lisa’s love life has repeatedly attracted public attention over the years. Since 2023, she has been photographed on multiple occasions with the heir to French luxury conglomerate LVMH, leading to repeated dating rumours. Lisa, however, has never officially responded to the speculation.

While the dating rumours had yet to completely die down, Lisa was recently rumoured to have fallen in love with Thai actor Blue Pongtiwat, who is three years younger than her, once again putting her love life in the spotlight.
