A refreshing couple will be on their way to the big screens this year. The upcoming Chinese romantic drama film But Always <一生一世>, directed by Zou Xian (鄒佡), stars Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) and Gao Yuanyuan (高圓圓) as two lovers who went through the test of time. The film is set in Beijing and New York.
New stills of the film have recently been released online, showing Nicholas and Yuanyuan kissing each other intimately on the streets of New York. Nicholas said, “Beijing and New York are two opposite extremes on earth. Beijing represents how we fell in love, and New York represents how we stayed together.”
Nicholas and Yuanyuan shot the love scene in Manhattan’s Sixth Avenue. The scene was about Yuanyuan storming out of a fancy restaurant and how Nicholas caught up to her, embraced her, and then kissed her.
As the scene was filmed in late autumn last year, the weather was cold. Yuanyuan revealed that if she had stayed out longer to do more shoots, she would have fallen sick. As seen in the stills, Yuanyuan only wore a white tube dress.
Filming in the cold was struggle, but Nicholas and Yuanyuan also had a great time during their long stay in New York. Nicholas said that he also had the time to take Yuanyuan around for some sightseeing.
But Always is scheduled to be released in mainland China on September 5.
