Alice Chan (陳煒) has found her filming experience for Forensic Heroes IV <法證先鋒IV> to be the most stressful and unforgettable. Playing a Scientific Evidence Officer (SEO) for the Forensics Department of Hong Kong, Alice had to a lot of research and preparation for the professional role. But aside from the homework, Alice also had to a lot of endurance training for the role, sharing that she once filmed 48 hours straight without rest, setting a TVB “death notice” record.
“It broke my record,” the 46-year-old said. “The call sheet had me in the studios for 48 hours straight. I went through three different shifts of directors and filming crews. It was a test of my endurance and I think it was probably broke a TVB record. We’ve never had a call sheet that long before.” Alice only had a few hours of sleep before she was called in for her next schedule.
“It was really tough!” she said.
Fortunately, the team behind Forensic Heroes IV also made Deep in the Realm of Conscience <宮心計2深宮計>, which Alice was also a part of. “We had a lot of chemistry, and we all understood each other very well.”
Receiving a Best Actress nomination for her role as Princess Taiping in Deep in the Realm of Conscience, many netizens say they will support her for Best Actress in Forensic Heroes IV. “I’m still working hard,” she said. “People don’t need to worry about me. I don’t plan on quitting anytime soon, and there will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Every year we get to see different productions, and every single actor works hard for it. When it comes to winning, a lot of it is luck. I was actually very satisfied with myself after winning Most Popular Female Character, but I will continue to work hard to reach TV Queen.”
Forensic Heroes IV also stars Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Selena Lee (李施嬅), Shaun Tam (譚俊彥), and Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗), and premieres Monday, February 17th.
