“Barrack O’Karma” Sequel to Start Filming in August

After last year’s Barrack O’Karma <金宵大廈> was extremely well received for its tightly woven plot and interesting storyline, the TVB drama is back by popular demand. The sequel is scheduled to start filming in August, and the only cast member who hasn’t signed on yet is Selena Lee (李施嬅).

While retaining most of the original cast including Joel Chan (陳山聰), and Samantha Ko (高海寧), lead actress Selena Lee hasn’t confirmed her participation in the show yet. When asked, she simply replied, “I haven’t signed anything yet.”

There have been news of the sequel starting principal photography in the summer, but Joel hasn’t received an official notice to start working on the sequel yet.

Receiving praise for her Tiger mom character last time, Samantha also shrugged when asked about the filming details. She laughed, “I’m not really sure! I just know that I have to film Seven Princesses <七公主> soon. However, you guys always seem to have the latest news before I do anyway!”

Reporters also managed to reach out to ex-TVB actor Lau Kong (劉江) and asked if he will take part in the sequel as well. Since the veteran actor is no longer at the company, he is uncertain whether or not he will be back for the show.

  1. Please bring the original cast members!!! I’m so excited for this sequel!
Barrack O’Karma has been one my favourite dramas to date.

  2. Won’t be a sequel without the main cast back. Joel and Selena made one of the best on screen romances in a longggg time

  3. Who cares if Samatha Ko comes back? Her character was a nobody… Lau Kong was much bigger char! Though the script did his char dirty. Werewolf? Really? Laughable.

I did like the series in the beginning eventhough the story lines were pretty predictable and the CGI was a dollar short. It had potential to push the envelope on some stories, like the blow up doll, ageless inn lady, and even the water pipes. All came to a bleh. I even liked Joel and Selena love story in the beginning. It was interesting but it fell so bland once they actually showed the history. It was very anticlimactic… I was getting super annoyed with Joel continuous screaming of Selena’s chars names and scrunchy yet stiffed cry face. This is coming from someone who likes Joel acting lol.

Must say Selena looked very pretty and fitting in the Shanghai qui bao era. I never thought she was pretty when she started out. She aged well thus far.

  4. I think the show was just different from the usual tvb type dramas that caught viewers attention. The effect used in the show was mediocre and it felt like a teenager school project. Especially whenever there’s some laser beam or ghost effect scene.
