Estimated to have a net worth of $2 billion HKD, Chow Yun Fat (周潤發) and his wife Jasmine Tan (陳薈蓮) lead a simple and down-to-earth life nevertheless, and exercise is one of their greatest interests.
Fat Gor’s exercise interests include walking, mountain climbing and mountain running, which explain his fit physique. Although he is in his sixties, he maintains a youthful appearance and belong to a list of “male god celebrities who have aged incredibly well”.
While he used to walk and slow jog on mountains, Fat Gor has switched base to Kowloon Tsai Park near his residence to practice jogging every day.
Not just a casual interest, he has also engaged two experts to coach him jogging and stretching. Anson Cha, a fitness instructor engaged by many other celebrities, accompanies Fat Gor on slow jogs up mountains.
His other coach is also well-known in running circles. Popularly known as “So Sir” (蘇凱男), he is a former Hong Kong national team representative and also the national record holder for many long distance events. Currently the head coach of NIKE+RUN CLUB, his students include Hilary Tsui (徐濠縈). Familiar with many celebrities who love jogging like Kathy Yuen (湯怡) and Regen Cheung (張惠雅), they meet up with him to train often.
Every morning around 7 a.m., Fat Gor would meet So Sir to practice jogging at Kowloon Tsai Park, listening attentively to the former when he explains correct running postures. Fat Gor would practice repeatedly and take a short water break or walk around to catch his breath when tired.
Despite the sweltering heat and physical fatigue, Chow Yun Fat insists on his training routine. It is no wonder that he has an energetic physique, maintains tip-top health, and looks great for his age.
