“Come Home Love: Lo and Behold” Airs 1,000th Episode

TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold <·回家之開心速遞> is on its way to break A Kindred Spirit’s <真情> record of being the longest-running scripted television series in the series of Hong Kong television.

On September 16, Lo and Behold aired its 1,000th episode. The cast—including lead actors Lau Dan (劉丹), Pal Sinn (單立文), Joyce Tang (滕麗名), Koni Lui (呂慧儀), and Kalok Chow (周嘉洛)—attended a promotional event to celebrate the big milestone. They also announced that the sitcom has been renewed to 2,000 episodes, which would make it the longest-running scripted series ever.

Lau Dan stars in both A Kindred Spirit and Lo and Behold.

“I hope the series will continue to go as long as it’s willing,” said Koni Lui. “The most important thing is that it brings happiness to everyone.”

Over 1,030 episodes have already been filmed for the show.

“Would it be possible to register this for the Guinness World Records?” asked Kalok Chow. “The show’s been going on for so long. I’m positive it has beaten at least one historical record.” Kalok added that his grandfather on the show—Lau Dan—should be recognized as the artiste who has filmed the most sitcoms in TVB history.

Lo and Behold is the fourth installment of the Come Home Love <·回家> franchise, which started with the sitcom of the same name airing between 2012 and 2015. A spin-off was aired between 2015 and 2016. A third installment, Come Home Love: Dinner at 8 <·回家之八時入席>, premiered in 2016 and starred Teresa Mo (毛舜筠) and Wayne Lai (黎耀祥).

  1. This Lo and Behold cast has to the luckiest one. Stable and regular work and probably has more exposure than supporting actors in the regular drama series. I wonder if they can even keep up with writing new scripts for it lol

  2. Lol I am actually surprised this lasted so long. Am much as I enjoy watching it, there doesn’t seem to be any long-tern developments with the characters in ages. I feel like the writers are really just going with the flow, and has no real ideas. 1000 episodes and all the characters are essentially in the same place.
