Hana Kuk Does Not Cook for Ron Ng

Born in the Year of the Tiger, Hana Kuk (菊梓喬) was advised by her fengshui master that she would have an unlucky year. Doing what she can to turn the tide in her favor, Hana admits that it has been a year of changes.

To change her luck, Hana was advised to get braces. “I have a lot of projecting teeth and I didn’t want to get veneers, so I discussed my options with the dentist. We decided on braces, as it would be good for my overall health.” The treatment will last over 400 days and she will need to wear braces for 22 hours a day other than during mealtimes.

It has been a painful process so far, as her muscles and head have been hurting. “I felt frustrated and my face also looked like it had been flattened! I also lost a lot of weight during the first two days, but I feel that being too skinny wasn’t a good look. Once I got used to braces, I forced myself to eat more.”

During the pandemic, Hana has been making different recipes and at one point had even thought of selling her meals in a takeout delivery format. She shared that she really likes hot pot and is confident in her Huadiao chicken soup base recipe. “As it’s hard to make a small portion, I’ll make a big portion and give it to my friends to try.”

When asked if she had sent any to her rumored boyfriend Ron Ng (吳卓羲), she laughed and said she did not because she does not think he would like it. “I usually give it to my close friends and Ron has a lot of food already!” Although Ron has not tried her cooking, it seems that she is very familiar with Ron’s tastes in food. “Actors are very stubborn about food and don’t want to eat this or that. I tend to eat foods that are fatty and strongly flavored, so I’m afraid of ruining my friends’ diets.”

Gaining weight during the pandemic, Hana is now over a 100 pounds and her waist expanded from 21 to 25 inches. “I’ve gained weight all around, but my face is still slim. Luckily, my pants still fit. I really like snacks and desserts. The gyms have been closed which doesn’t help.” She hopes that she can attend boxing classes when the gyms reopen at the end of April because she has recently started watching professional wrestling and hopes to learn the sport.

  1. Braces can be worn 22 hours a day? I thought they were drilled in. Does she mean retainers?
