Ron Ng to Launch His Own Brand of Toy Figures

Three years ago, Ron Ng (吳卓羲) opened his own museum in Beijing to showcase his collection of superhero toys and figurines. With no entrance fee and the need to pay for rent and expenses, Ron actually makes no profit from his museum. However, one of his goals is to promote his music and performance to the public through various channels, whether it is designing his own figures, clothing, or accessories.

Having spent a large amount of money on acquiring his museum collection, the 42-year-old decided that he has upcoming plans to launch his own figures. With high expectations for an initial launch, he invested over a seven-figure amount. It is speculated that his brand will officially launch in three to four months.

Choosing not to enroll in design courses, Ron said all the product design work was done by himself – from sketching, choice choices, to product design revisions. To avoid possibilities of plagiarism, Ron incorporated his own style into the designs. Working at home, he uses his cat as a model for designing his figures.

With an estimated worth of over HK$50 million, Ron rewards himself for his hard work. He has an impression car collection of seven fast cars. “If I don’t have anything to do, I will go for a drive in each of my cars,” Ron admitted.

Aside from investing in his hobbies, Ron also takes a pragmatic approach to real estate investments. With his eyes set on the Tseung Kwan O area, Ron has intentions of purchasing a place there. “There’s a lot of foot traffic in the area. Since I’m not living there myself, I don’t need to buy such a big place – anywhere between 400 to 500 square feet is enough for investment purposes. It’s also a lot easier to rent out.”
