Kim Soo Hyun’ Alleged Attack on Whistleblower Debunked by US Consulate

As controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun’s relationship with Kim Sae Ron continues to unfold, South Korean Tabloid Garo Sero Research Institute has accused Kim Soo Hyun orchestrating an attack on a whistleblower. However, adding complexity to the controversy, the US Consulate has denied that an attack took place.
Garo Sero Research Institute previously held a press conference on May 7th and claimed that a whistleblower has recordings that link Kim Soo Hyun to Kim Sae Ron. Furthermore, Garo Sero asserted that the whistleblower was allegedly stabbed nine times in the United States and FBI is involved in the investigation.
It has only a week since Garo Sero’s conference, news emerged that the New York Consulate has denied the attack. The New York Consulate said: “According to Article 36 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, local judicial authorities are obligated to notify the consulate of the respective country immediately if a national is arrested or detained. We have not received any such notification from local law enforcement.”
While there has been claims that the FBI has launched an investigation, the Consulate did not confirm or deny the claims and stating only: “The FBI is not managed by our agency.”
