Lisa to Star in Beloved Disney Live-Action Movie?

In as yet unconfirmed news, BLACKPINK‘s Lisa may soon make her Disney debut, starring as spirited princess Rapunzel in the live-action adaptation of Tangled! Expected to deliver dazzling visuals and spectacular musical performances that immerse viewers in the magical world of Disney princesses, the film is confirmed to be helmed by director Michael Gracey, best known for The Greatest Showman.

Lisa Among the Top Contenders for the Lead Role
According to a report by AllKpop, Lisa has been shortlisted by Disney as one of the potential actresses to play Rapunzel in the upcoming live-action Tangled, with fans commenting her big eyes and long hair have made her the perfect choice. Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson is reportedly also in talks for the role of villain Mother Gothel, sparking heated online discussions.

Also circled for the role of spirited princess Rapunzel are Florence Pugh and Sydney Sweeney, making this casting decision especially tough as all three share similar features of blonde hair and striking eyes.

Disney’s interest in casting Lisa is a strategic one, outlining the entertainment giant’s hopes that the star’s massive global fanbase will help reignite interest in its princess franchise and boost audience enthusiasm worldwide, since its recent live-action adaptations, such as Snow White and The Little Mermaid, underperformed at the box office.

Lisa made her acting debut earlier in February as “Mook” in Season 3 of HBO’s hit series The White Lotus, earning positive reception with her natural expressions and emotional range, despite it being her first screen role, and went on to sign with Hollywood talent agency WME, signaling plans to appear in more international productions.

  1. I seriously hope this is fake news. Tangled is one of the best Disney animation and honestly it isn’t about the race swap or her image as disney princess for some of her career choices, it is acting. I seriously hope not. Please don’t.

    1. And not florence pugh too even if she’s a good actress. She’s too old. It has to be someone young and new and hopefully blonde and white. I’m tired over unnecessary race swap.

  2. I don’t think this would be good given the current political climate. They messed up so badly with snow white and the little mermaid, just dont.
