Working together again since their last collaboration 10 years ago in Coffee Cat Mama <貓屎媽媽>, Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), and Vincent Wong (王浩信) talk about their experiences while filming Mission Run <廉政狙擊>.
Friends for many years, Bosco and Nancy said they do not need extra time to get familiar with each another on set. Having played a couple together in The Ultimate Addiction <點金勝手> in 2014, Bosco and Nancy instead portray siblings in Mission Run. Aside from complimenting Nancy as the “youngest-looking elder sister” ever, Bosco was excited to work with Ron Ng (吳卓羲) and Mandy Wong (黃智雯) again.
Suffering a tragic childhood, Nancy’s character has a vendetta and prefers to hide her feelings from the world. Playing such a character for the first time, Nancy hopes she effectively portrayed her angst and pain. Indeed, viewers in China noticed Nancy’s breakthrough performance. When asked if she has any intentions of expanding her career in China, Nancy admitted she would love the opportunity, but understands that it is not an easy feat.
Having already worked for lengthy periods in China, Bosco and Vincent advised practicing Mandarin is the most helpful. To challenge himself, Bosco hired a Mandarin teacher and purposely filmed his first Mainland drama in full Mandarin.
Pointing out that the competition is extremely high in China, Vincent never used his TV King title as a leverage or as an excuse. Instead, he focused his energy entirely on playing his characters well. Staying in China last year, Vincent wants to spend more time with family this year, especially with his daughter.
