Song Joong Ki’s “Arthdal Chronicles: Season 2” to Begin Filming

Arthdal Chronicles was the first Korean TV series to tell a story of the birth of a civilization in the ancient times as mythical heroes and tribal communities fiercely fight for power. While the show was renewed for its final part, filming has unfortunately been continuously postponed due to the pandemic. No updates were heard until its production company Studio Dragon officially announced on February 23 that filming will begin this year.

Starring Song Joong Ki, Kim Ji Won, and Jang Dong Gun, Arthdal Chronicles garnered great success with the positive reception of its first and second part of the trilogy released in 2019.

Casting is unconfirmed so far, but fans hope the original cast will return to give the story the right closure. Afterall, its star-studded cast was one of the huge reasons why viewers started the show, but soon found themselves hooked into its unique and refreshing storytelling.

The company also revealed that the show is slated for broadcast in 2023, and will continue to be written by screenwriters Kim Young Hyun and Park Sang Yeon. It reportedly will also be helmed by directors Kim Kwang Shik, Kim Kyu Tae and Hong Jong Chan.

  1. I tried to like this drama but it really did not hold my interest… I think the genre just did not suit me.
