TVB Reshuffles “Treasures of Destiny”, Airs “Forensic Heroes 5”

In an about-turn to its 55th anniversary drama lineup, TVB is pulling the scheduled premier of Katy Kung (龔嘉欣) and Moses Chan’s (陳豪) drama Treasures of Destiny < 新四十二章> and airing Forensic Heroes 5 <法證先鋒V > in its place!

Katy to Be Biggest Loser?
The previously announced drama lineup also includes the recently concluded The Beauty of War <美麗戰場>, Get On a Flat <下流上車族>, I’ve Got the Power <超能使者>. It was understood from sources that Treasures of Destiny had to be simulcasted with its premiere in China but the series could not obtain approval in time. In its place, TVB decided to air the latest instalment of the popular crime scene investigation franchise starring Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Sisley Choi (蔡思貝) and Venus Wong (王敏奕), to coincide with its recent premier in China.

Rising TV Queen contender Katy Kung, who was thought to stand a high chance of securing a nomination with Treasures of Destiny, looks set to be the biggest loser of the broadcast reshuffle.
Katy had earlier hinted dissatisfaction at actress Jeannie Chan’s (陳瀅) rapid rise to fadan status, versus her own steady ascent from years at the station, and excitedly shared that she too would have an upcoming anniversary drama.

The 32-year-old successfully won viewers’ notice in suspenseful drama Brutally Young 2.0 <十八年後的終極告白2.0> and was thought to have a good shot at nabbing her first ever TV Queen award in her dramatic collaboration with Moses, considering she could have leveraged on the momentum of anniversary productions. Approached for comment, Katy said she just received notification about the postponed broadcast two days back.
