TVB’s New Sitcom “Seated at 8” To Start Production Soon
Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Power Chan (陳國邦), Angela Tong (湯盈盈), and singer William Hu (胡渭康) had a secret costume fitting for TVB’s upcoming sitcom Seated at 8 <八時入席>, which will be replacing Come Home Love <愛·回家> when it completes its series run this April.
Also starring Teresa Mo (毛舜筠), Seated at 8 is a comedy that revolves around the employees of a trendy media production company. Wayne plays a television producer while Teresa plays his multi-talented assistant. Seated at 8 is Teresa and Wayne’s third sitcom together; their last two collaborations were in 2008’s Off Pedder <畢打自己人> and 2010’s Some Day <天天天晴>.
Teresa Mo Convinced Power Chan to Return to TVB
In October 2015, Power Chan made headlines when he published an open letter to TVB, which announced his departure. However, he returned to the station a few months later and was cast in Seated at 8.
The Confidant <大太監> star said his reasons for returning to TVB was because of Teresa Mo, who will be playing his niece in the new sitcom. Power and Teresa became close friends after playing brother and sister in the 1989 TVB miniseries A World Apart <水鄉危情>.
“We are on completely different levels when it comes to fame, but Teresa treats me like her own younger brother. We see each other all the time,” said Power. “When I got Teresa’s call, telling me to reconsider my leaving, I was very surprised. I struggled wit the decision for a long time. She was the one who convinced me to stay, and her telephone call really helped me change my decision. It’s such a rare opportunity to collaborate again after 27 years.”
