Why Yvonne Yung Lives Apart from Her Husband

1989 Miss Asia pageant winner Yvonne Yung (翁虹), known for her youthful appearance, revealed that she has already been separated from her husband Will Liu (劉冠廷) for 3 years!

A Shared Consensus

Yvonne, whose daughter Crystal Liu (劉蒔) turns 18 this coming October, made the revelation recently on social media.

“My husband and I started living separately in 2022, when Crystal was preparing for overseas studies, and coincidentally Will also had work matters abroad to take care of…due to the nature of my work, I often had to be in different cities, so (the two of us) reached a consensus that one of us has to be able to accompany Crystal long-term, that way, I’d have better peace-of-mind to work and Crystal has someone by her side, while my hubby would be able to find his own pace of life,”

“At the start, my family felt that being apart in different cities will affect our relationship but it was really the opposite, not only did our feelings (for each other) not get affected, it became better than before, proving the saying true that ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder,’”

On Giving Love A Second Chance

After her divorce with first husband Ng Wai-kit (伍偉傑) in 2005, Yvonne remarried Will in 2007. She revealed in earlier interviews that her first failed marriage was “disappointing”, and also caused her to develop a phobia of marriage, but meeting Will made her see marriage in a different light.

“When I met him, I had already been in the industry for very long, I’m not someone who would give up my career to stay at home after marriage, maybe it’s because my husband had studied overseas, he’d feel that he was very selfish if I had to give up the career achievements I had gained after so many years of hard work; he felt that if he loves me, he should be supportive and help me succeed. If he were like my first (husband), I’d have to divorce a second time,” shared the 56-year-old.
