William Feng Cherishes Being a Father

While promoting his new Chinese crime suspense film The Victims <黃雀在後>, William Feng (馮紹峰) shared stories about filming with co-star Maggie Huang Mengying (黃夢瑩).  However, the highlight of the evening was when William shared stories about his 5-year-old son and his perspective on fatherhood.

William named quality companionship, effective communication, continuous learning and growth as the key pillars to his approach in raising his son. Becoming instantly emotional and teary, William’s revelations instantly became a trending search on Weibo. He frankly shared his gratitude in witnessing his son’s growth, “I really love my son and I will talk to him in the same manner as I would with adults. I really cherish this wonderful experience.”

Marrying Zanilia Zhao Liying (趙麗穎) in 2018, they welcomed their son shortly after. Since they divorced in 2021, William has been the primary parent raising their son. William still felt he was not qualified as a father and believed “the biggest success in life is a good relationship between children and their parents.”

Coincidentally, Zhao Liying has been working hard to promote The Legend of Shen Li <與鳳行> and was trending on Weibo’s hot search list recently. While the drama was a success, netizens criticized the actress for only focusing on her career and not fulfilling her responsibilities as a mother. Although Zhao Liying was spotted taking her son outside before, those occasions were forgotten under the mountain of criticism.
