Raymond Lam Returns to Work Despite Back Injury

Raymond Lam (林峯) cancelled a scheduled appearance at the Shanghai TV Festival on June 10 after aggravating an old back injury. Although his manager Candy assured that his condition was not severe, girlfriend Karena Ng (吳千語) stated that Raymond was in a lot of pain and even had trouble walking. The TVB idol has quickly regained his mobility after just a few days of rest, and has already returned to his busy work schedule.

When Raymond failed to show up at the Festival last week, fans who have waited hours for his arrival expressed both disappointment and concern. Karena later explained that he had re-injured his back during an intense workout, and was prescribed rest and physical therapy.

Barely a week has passed, and Raymond has already packed up for work. On June 16, manager Candy posted a photo of the star on her Weibo and wrote, “Time to go. Ah Jai [Raymond’s nickname], will you be all right?” Sitting with his legs crossed in a business class seat, Raymond looked relaxed as he waited for his flight to take off. Although his destination is unknown, many fans are happy to see that he has healed and left plenty of messages of support and encouragement.

Some also expressed surprise at his quick recovery. Suffering frequent injuries on the film set, Raymond has developed chronic ailments for which he has received repeated surgeries and treatments. Despite aggravating his old injury in the delicate back area, the 34-year-old has bounced back quickly. Just four days after his cancelled appearance, Raymond and Karena were already out celebrating a friend’s birthday. Raymond had no trouble bending his waist to pose for a group photo, and seemed to give no hint that he was suffering from any physical pain.
