Nancy Wu Consults Myolie Before Leaving TVB

Two-time TVB Best Actress winner Nancy Wu (胡定欣) used the traditional Chinese festival Lichun to post on social media announcing that she is leaving TVB!

On February 5th, the actress revealed that her contract ended at the end of last year. Hoping to take on new challenges and fresh impacts in the future, Nancy said she will proactively develop opportunities in the mainland China market, and did not rule out working together again with her former employer TVB in the future.

Hopes to Have Fresh Challenges

Nancy shared that the reason for leaving is that she hopes to make a new start in 2026, and to follow her own wishes more when choosing projects and collaborators. “Over the past few years, at different times—because of different reasons and different environmental factors—I’ve had different thoughts. In terms of work, I need new impacts; I also need new impacts for myself. I think you all want to see me do something new too! I feel that going out to collaborate with different people and pushing myself is really important,”

As for her work plans going forward, Nancy said the current market environment means “you have to do anything you can.” She also hinted that she will actively develop in the mainland China market, and has even sought advice from her close friend Myolie Wu (胡杏兒). However, she said she has no plans for now to set up her own studio; instead, she hopes to better understand how work connects and transitions, rather than passively waiting for jobs or relying solely on her manager to handle everything.

On her relationship with TVB, she said they have been partners for many years and have ended things pleasantly. If TVB needs her in the future, she would help, not ruling out any possibility of future collaboration.

Asked about her husband’s views, Nancy sweetly said his unlimited support has given her great confidence. “He supports me 100%. No matter what I do, he supports me. He also supports this decision, so it’s very solid.” Probed if she has plans to have children, the 44 year-old said she and her husband are still very much enjoying their life as a couple. In 2026, she will focus mainly on developing her career, and they will plan the rest later.
