Each with a distinct presence, Dilraba’s looks have already sparked heated fan discussion, and many believe He Simu could become one of Dilraba’s new signature roles.
Period fantasy romance Love Beyond the Grave <白日提燈>, starring Chinese drama goddess Dilraba Dilmurat (迪麗熱巴) alongside Arthur Chen Feiyu (陳飛宇), has officially been confirmed to take over slot of Zhang Linghe (張凌赫) and Tian Xiwei’s (田曦薇) hit drama Pursuit of Jade <逐玉>, Set to premiere on Tencent on the 28th, with simultaneous release on Disney+, advance reservations on Tencent have already soared past 3.5 million.
A Transcendent Love

Love Beyond the Grave tells the story of He Simu, a ghost king who has lived for four hundred years yet retains the appearance of a young woman. She encounters the young general Duan Xu, who carries the spiritual sword of someone from her past at his waist. Between yin and yang, their relationship evolves from mutual testing and suspicion to redemption, as they use love to endure the erosion of time, safeguarding the human world that neither of them can bear to let go of.
Dilraba Dilmurat plays the ghost king He Simu, with her costumes designed by Taiwanese designer Huang Wei. She wears as many as 27 handmade costumes throughout the drama. The most talked-about among them is the iconic red-robed Ghost King look, adorned with antique-style glazed beads so that each step is accompanied by a soft, ethereal chime like wind bells, creating an otherworldly aura that seems to transcend the screen.
Mesmerizing Visuals
Arthur Chen’s character, the young general Duan Xu, appears on the surface to be a spirited, unruly commander of the Tabai Army, but beneath that exterior lies a meticulous mind shaped by a blood feud. The role carries a rich complexity, blending strength, fragility, and deep emotion. In the trailer, scenes of him with a high ponytail, clad in silver armour and fighting through the snow in battle-worn condition, have already triggered intense discussion among viewers.
Beyond its strong cast, Love Beyond the Grave also boasts a top-tier production team – director Qin Zhen (秦榛) of the hit series Lost You Forever <長相思> brings her trademark delicate female perspective and lyrical visual style to set the tone for the entire production; Shao Changyong (邵昌勇), the art director of Nirvana in Fire <琅琊榜> blends Dunhuang-inspired motifs with Gothic aesthetics to painstakingly construct the ghost city of Guixu City as a full physical set.
With a top-tier cast and crew, the series’ newly released premiere trailer — featuring the pair in a tragic supernatural romance between a human and a ghost — has proven highly eye-catching, making it one of the most eagerly anticipated costume dramas of early 2026.
