Hong Kong Artistes Play Pickleball

With the craze for the emerging sport of pickleball sweeping through Hong Kong, two Best Actor winners, Roger Kwok (郭晉安) and Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) recently joined forces with Alvin Ng (伍富橋), Cindy Lee (李思雅), Kayan Yau (游嘉欣), Jacqueline Chong (莊思敏), Kenny Wong (黃德斌), Danny Hung (孔德賢), and acclaimed producer Jonathan Chik (戚其義) to officially form the “Pickleball Elite Team” in a star-studded lineup!

Alvin Ng revealed to the media that the team was formed after an invitation from Cindy, who is vice president of the pickleball association. When asked about the skill level of the other members, Alvin said, “Everyone plays pretty well. Maybe it’s because many of them already have a background in tennis, so they already have the feel for striking the ball and court movement. That helped them adapt to pickleball very quickly,”

As for which of the two heavyweight members – Roger or Ruco – played better, Alvin said frankly that both of them played very well, but Ruco had a slight edge in reaction speed and quickness. “They’re both very good….but Ruco Chan used to be part of Hong Kong’s youth table tennis team, so his touch and reactions are especially sharp. He picked it up even faster.”

After seeing the lineup, many netizens joked that “This team is truly the strongest combination, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera!”
