13-Year-old Sabrina Chiu Impresses in “Stars Academy 2”

Continuing its successful streak in discovering young talent, Stars Academy 2 <聲夢傳奇2> is currently airing on TVB every Saturday. In the new season, 13-year-old Sabrina Chiu’s (趙紫諾) star is shining the brightest.

In a performance of JC’s (陳詠桐) “Breakup” <說散就散>, Sabrina’s  video clip garnered nearly 605,000 views; 11,000 likes; and nearly 2,900 comments on YouTube.

Viewers were awestruck by  Sabrina’s singing abilities at such a tender age: “I can’t believe a 13- year-old can sing like that–Hong Kong’s music scene has another new star;” “She fully displayed her vocal power;” and “She’s on a different level–she should just debut now!”

Thrilled by the enthusiastic reception, Sabrina is grateful towards her mentor Phil Lam (林奕匡), “Thank you for your advice, and for sending recordings at 2 a.m.! I feel so grateful that I am able to come to you with any questions!” Phil responded, “So proud of you dear! Never stop believing in yourself! Looking forward to your upcoming performances!”

Emotions on the music survival show continue to build as contestant Crystal Leung (梁芷菁) was the first to be eliminated. Fellow contestant and friend Jasmine Yam (任暟晴) shared a clip of them watching the third episode together teary-eyed and wrote, “I am very grateful to have met you, and to have taken initiative to speak to you at the first audition. I am so happy that you were able to give such a good performance on stage with no regrets left. I was so touched as I was watching you smile so happily on stage. I will try my best to fulfill your dream. You must continue singing–you are very important to me. Love, Jasmine.” Mentor Vincy Chan (泳兒) commented on her post expressing that their friendship was full of love!
