Aaron Yan’s Case Nears Closure

Aaron Yan (炎亞綸), who recently changed his name to Wu Bingru (吳秉孺), was accused of filming and possessing intimate videos of a minor with intent to distribute five years ago. Last June, male influencer Yao Le (耀樂) claimed he was only 16 years old when he was forced to have sex with Aaron at the star’s house one night.

After a lengthy police investigation, Aaron was formally charged with assault in November. However, the charges were later dropped when the court found the case to be lacking sufficient evidence.

The last time the court was held for mediation, the two parties did not agree on the settlement amount and the mediation was not successful. Shilin District Court summoned Aaron again and the hearing took place yesterday. Appearing in a yellow hoodie with a friend by his side, Aaron walked in from the side avoiding the media and entered the court house at 2:58 p.m.

When he finally left court, Aaron emphasized to reporters, “I want to clarify a few things. The prosecutors decided not to charge me with rape or filming without consent. In the future, I hope both the media and netizens will use their words carefully. Please let me be and don’t accuse me of things I haven’t done.” Asked if he had reached a settlement with Yao Le, Aaron did not want to respond and left.
