Ada Choi Threatened to Break Up If Max Zhang Didn’t Propose

Regarded as one of the most loving couples in the Hong Kong/ Chinese entertainment industry, Ada Choi (蔡少芬) and Max Zhang (張晉) often showcase their love for each other on variety shows and social media. The couple currently star in Chinese variety program, Viva La Romance <妻子的浪漫旅行 4> Season 4, where Max comes across as a very accommodating husband. However, viewers were somewhat shocked when he revealed that it was Ada who had forced marriage on him.

In a recent episode, Ada, Xie Na (謝娜), Zhang Xinyi (張歆藝), and Gina Alice (吉娜), were seen practicing their dance moves with the program’s dance instructor, Jin Han (金瀚). Although claiming to have a dancing background, Ada’s rigid dance moves made the other actresses erupt into laughter. Watching his wife’s dancing from another screen, Max shook his head and said, “Besides her expressions, she’s not doing anything else correctly.”

Although Ada showed her light-hearted side while dancing, she quickly became serious when she began talking about her relationship with Max. One of her happiest memories was when her father walked her down the aisle on her wedding day. While many may be envious that she found such an attentive husband, she said every relationship has its little problems. For Ada, one of the biggest bumps was marriage itself.

On the other side of the camera, Max revealed, “After we dated for four years, Ada said she didn’t have any time left. She said we either get married or we should break up. She made me think hard about it, although I had initially believed a man must be successful in his career before marriage.”

Since he loves Ada, Max decided that he should be flexible in juggling prioritizes. “I realized that there’s no conflict with career and marriage – I’ll still continue to work hard after getting married. That’s why I told Ada, ‘It doesn’t matter how my career turns out, I’ve already decided on you. Let’s get married!’”

  1. I think the title makes this sound harsher than it was. From hearing Ada talk about it it was less of a threat and more of a plan. If they don’t have a plan to go somewhere with their relationship, they should move on. Max had the freedom to choose. Her ask seemed reasonable and she shouldn’t have to stake her youth on something if it’s uncertain its going anywhere.

    1. @tatsumakijim meh, that woman is fierce! She’s acting as herself and should be applauded. So many times men just wasted women’s lives by being undecided. It’s not wrong for ultimatums. Not our faults when men don’t get their priorities right xD if you can be married rich, you can be married poor 🙂
