Angela Tong Reports Intimate Scenes to Chin Ka-lok

Though many couples in the acting industry separate work from family, some couples still believe that it’s necessary to keep their other half updated.

This past weekend, Come Home Love: Lo and Behold <愛‧回家之開心速遞> actors Angela Tong (湯盈盈), Koni Lui (呂慧儀), and more attended a promotional event for their new sitcom, which premieres Monday. Angela, who plays the ex-wife of Pal Sinn (單立文), looks forward to the romance arc for her character, but admitted that she’s not a big fan of doing intimate kissing scenes, and is even against it.

“I’m already married!” said Angela. “It’s not my husband that I’m worried about. He won’t get jealous, but I’m worried about what my daughters would think.”

Angela has been married to Chin Ka-lok (錢嘉樂) since 2012. The couple have two daughters Alyssa (born 2013) and Kassidy (born 2015).

“While I was shooting Dinner at 8 <愛‧回家之八時入席>, the director tried to convince me to kiss Koni Lui’s husband [Dickson Wong 黃文迪], but I turned him down,” she said.

The 41-year-old actress then shared an experience while shooting Oh My Grad <老表,畢業喇!> last year. “Roger Kwok (郭晉安) ad-libbed a kiss in one of our scenes together. I got pretty embarrassed. I did tell my husband when I went home that night, but I walked away after saying it. I didn’t get to see his reaction.”

Joking that she’s “broken the rule”, Angela is worried that her husband would now use that as an excuse to add in more kissing scenes for himself in his new movie. “I told him not to add in more unnecessary wife and girlfriend roles!” she joked.

Koni Lui Doesn’t Mind Husband Following Her Around

Unlike Angela, Koni doesn’t have a set rule of extremities in regards to intimacy at work, but she doesn’t find intimate scenes necessary to do. “Jonathan Cheung (張穎康) and I played a couple, and we got that point across without being too physically intimate.”

There were reports claiming that Koni’s husband, Dickson, liked to visit her a lot on set. Koni doesn’t mind it at all. “I once had to film two dramas at once. My husband was always around to pick me up and buy me food. Sometimes, he would bring our son along to visit me.”

  1. I think she did a more risque scene with… who was it? When she was pregnant and she didn’t know? Kissing is the least risque since most HK actors can’t kiss anyway. And it is acting anyway. Her daughters would have more cause to be embarrassed by perhaps choice of clothing or risque non kissing scenes or quite simply bad acting than just a simple kissing scene. Probably finding topic to talk about which is a non topic.
