Artistes Rehearse for TVB Anniversary Gala

With the TVB Anniversary Gala taking place on November 19, artistes have been rehearsing for the station’s biggest celebration of the year. One of the opening acts feature 16 dancers including Dickson Yu (余德丞), Hera Chan (陳曉華), Leonard Cheng (鄭衍峰), and Virginia Lau (劉溫馨), who attended their second group rehearsal yesterday. With only one week left, the artistes are feeling pressure in delivering their best performances.

Hera Chan had unknowingly twisted her ankle while filming for Paranormal Shop <異搜店>. After resting for two weeks, Hera has been visiting a traditional Chinese doctor every other day hoping she would recover in time for the Anniversary Gala. Paired up with newcomer Antonio Ng (吳天佑), Hera already advised her dance partner about her injury and asked him to go slowly during rehearsal.

Though dancing has always been her strength, Virginia Lau is afraid of being off tempo and unable to keep up with others in the dance sequence due to the difficulty of gathering the full group together for rehearsals. Although Virginia tried her best to memorize her steps, she has not been able to practice with her partner, Chow Ka Lok (周嘉洛), yet because of schedule conflicts. Luckily, the dance instructor told Virginia that Chow Ka Lok is a very quick learner and she has nothing to worry about.

Dickson Yu is similarly nervous about his dancing skills since he always lacked coordination on the dance floor. Worried whether he would step on his dance partner, Miss Hong Kong First Runner-up Fei Wong (王菲), he will have to communicate and coordinate with Fei more closely to synchronize their steps together.

When reporters changed the topic and asked about Stephanie Ho (何雁詩) and Fred Cheng’s (鄭俊弘) wedding over the weekend, which Dickson and Bob Lam (林盛斌) had attended, the actor admitted that Bob did drink a lot of alcohol at the party. Dickson exclaimed, “It’s true! When I arrived [at the wedding], Bob asked me to make sure to hold onto him in case anything happened. However, the rumors of him swearing are embellished – especially the ones claiming that he was so loud that everyone in the banquet heard him.”
