Ava Yu and Adason Lo Tie the Knot! Ending 7 Years of Being Lovers
They’re there for each other no matter what! On March 31, 2018, EEG singer-songwriter Adason Lo (羅力威) and singer-actress Ava Yu (雨僑) officially tied the knot after a long, seven-year relationship. The couple said their vows in front of 200 family members and friends at a western restaurant venue in Repulse Bay. Officially professing his love for “Mrs. Lo”, Adason said he wants to hold Ava’s hand until old age.
The wedding marches sounded at 11:30 in the morning, and Ava walked down the aisle with her father. At the reception, Adason performed a song he composed specifically for the wedding. Adason and Ava also performed a duet for their guests.
In an after interview, Adason shared that the wedding was completed in haste. They didn’t have time to rehearse, and the wedding started half an hour later than scheduled. Nonetheless, he was happy that everything went well without any mishap: “It was even more perfect than I imagined,” he said. “The weather was great, the live band was on time, and everything else went well.” Asking if he had cried, Adason joked, “What’s the point of crying during the day. Let’s save it for later tonight when I’m drunk.” Ava, on the other hand, said it was hard to hold herself together when she saw many of her close friends in attendance.
Asking if Adason had already given his wife a declaration of love, he admitted, “No. You guys all know that I’m not good at talking. I’m not used to saying serious things like that in front of her.” Ava defended, “If he does get serious in front of me, I’ll probably laugh.”
The couple have been together for seven long years, overcoming the seven-year itch. After some more urging by the press, Adason finally agreed to say a declaration of love. “From today forward, we will no longer be lovers, but husband and wife. I will use my clearest mind to make everything in your life neat and tidy. I will leave nothing behind. I will not lose things. I will also use my utmost strength and arms to help you carry your burdens, and in the logic that we both share, I will use my best humor to make you happy. I want to be able to hold your hand until we’re both old, and spend the rest of our marriage like we’re on a date.”
At the mention of a future honeymoon, Ava said they haven’t planned a time yet, as their work schedules are filled up until July. As for plans to have children, Ava said with a laugh, “Let us take a breather after the wedding!” Adason joked, “I’m going to be broken after the wedding. (Your wallet?) Yes, so I need to work hard on that.” Though Ava said she would like to have one to two kids, now is not the time to have them. “Having kids are not the biggest thing to consider. The biggest thing is how to raise them. Once you have kids, you have to spend a lot of time with them. That’s impossible to do with the jobs we have now. We’ll think about it once everything quiets down.”
