BFF: Linda Chung and Grace Wong
Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) and Grace Wong (王君馨) became fast friends after meeting each other. Growing up overseas with beauty pageant backgrounds, they were both Christians as well. Other than that, Linda and Grace are as different as water and fire. Despite this, they formed a trusting friendship that is rare in the entertainment industry.
A True Friendship
Grace asked Linda, “Baby, do you remember how we met?”
Both Linda and Grace met at an awards ceremony in mainland China about 4 years ago. As Linda’s hand trembled while holding a microphone, her nervousness left an impression with Grace, who found Linda’s behavior to be quite cute. After striking up a conversation, Linda found Grace to be very real and sincere and henceforth, started their friendship.
They grew close quickly and started visiting each other at their homes. Linda said admiringly to Grace, “I wish my house is spic and span like yours! I’m such a disorganized person and my house is always a mess.” On the other hand, Grace felt Linda’s house reflects her personality – real and unpretentious. Linda laughed, “Most people will prepare themselves for guests. However, I will open the door in my t-shirt or pajamas, or some other weird clothing. I don’t care even if it’s the delivery guy!”
Even when Linda went for facials, the aesthetician was shocked to see her clothes lying everywhere instead of hanging neatly up. Actually, this is what drew Grace to Linda. In the company of Linda, Grace can let her guard down and not have to pretend to be someone else.
Mischievous Linda
Linda revealed that when she was a young girl, she was curious about how it felt to fall from a moving car that she actually opened the car door and threw herself out while her mother was driving. She ended up with bruises all over her body and sand in her mouth!
Grace may give the impression of a westernized and open beauty with her loud voice, but she is in fact, rather prudent. Unlike Linda, her wildest adventure only involved partying when she was younger.
However, Linda became withdrawn after becoming an actress, preferring to keep to herself at most times. Fortunately, with good friends such as Grace and Leanne Li (李亞男), Linda is slowly coming out of her shell and gaining back her confidence. She said, “As long as I’m true to myself, it doesn’t matter if others accept me or not. After all everyone is different and special in their own ways!”
Encouragingly, Grace said to her friend, “It’s not easy to love oneself. Many times, we like to compare ourselves with others. But it’s a more beautiful world if we are ourselves. Like a garden, if every flower is the same, wouldn’t it be dull? On the contrary, the garden is only perfect when it is filled with different kinds of colors, sizes and shapes of flowers!”

Grace has always seemed really friendly and outgoing to me. Just by following her weibo and reading various news reports on her, she always seems to try and become friends with her costars.
