BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Stray Kids Attend Met Gala
The annual Met Gala took place in New York City on May 6. Many celebrities were in attendance, including Michelle Yeoh (楊紫瓊), BLACKPINK’s Jennie, and Stray Kids. The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Considered one of the biggest nights in New York’s fashion world, it is known for its extravagant themes and high-fashion ensembles.
This was the second consecutive year Jennie has attended the event. Compared to last year’s more conservative black and white dress, Jennie wore a custom draped, mini dress in royal blue by French luxury brand Alaïa this year. The dress used over 13 meters of fabric and took over 200 hours to make.
Other than Jennie, Stray Kids were another Kpop representative on the red carpet. It was the boyband’s first-time attendance at the Met Gala. All eight members of Stray Kids wore custom looks by Tommy Hilfiger, as the boyband just appeared in ads for the designers spring 2024 collection.

How in the world did that dress take 200 hours to make, more like 2 hours. There was nothing bold about this look lol. It’s one of the tamest of the nights. She shows her midriff like all the time so this is nothing new. The color is pretty but like that’s all.
