Charmaine Sheh Comments on Filming “Queen of News 2”

Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Moses Chan (陳豪), Jeannie Chan (陳瀅), Brian Chu (朱敏瀚), and Jackie Cai (蔡潔) attended a promotional event for a tea brand. Charmaine expressed her happiness at learning the tea product she endorses sold out immediately upon launch. As she is health-conscious, Charmaine finds the sugar-free positioning of the tea products very suitable for her.

Referring to an earnings ability report on social media that placed her among the Top Five, Charmaine thanked her fans and advertisers for their support. When pointed out that she currently represents many brands, Charmaine humorously said Moses endorses even more. Moses jokingly responded, “I’m just a small fry. Charmaine is the one who’s really driving and stimulating the economy.”

Charmaine will complete filming Queen of News 2 <新聞女王2> by next month. Asked whether the success of the first season added pressure, she responded that an actor’s job is to bring characters to life but the writers and producers bear the greater burden. Regarding the addition of Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) to the sequel, Charmaine praised his excellent portrayal of an unlikable character, laughing, “He’s so annoying you just want to smack him every time he shows up haha! But in real life, he’s so nice–he even made soup for us.”

Charmaine, who recently filmed two dramas back-to-back, said she plans to take a short break after finishing Queen of News 2 to rest her mind. She tries her best to find time to rest even when work is busy. Commenting on actress Samantha Ko’s (高海寧) recent health issues, Charmaine noted Samantha also filmed two dramas in a row.

Filming for his medical drama has wrapped and Moses is now busy with commercials and promotions. He plans to take his wife, Aimee Chan (陳茵微), and their children back to Canada during the summer to visit family. After years of working non-stop, Moses is finally able to go together instead of doing the drop off and pick up at the airport.

Not working together in over 10 years, both Moses and Charmaine look forward to collaborating again if a suitable script comes along. Moses hopes their pairing will bring the audience down memory lane and joked it does not matter whether they play a couple, just getting to work together again would make him happy.

Jeannie and Jackie both wore white strapless dresses to the event. They said it was not coordinated, but they developed a good sense of chemistry after filming Prism Breakers <執法者們>. Jeannie revealed she is about to start filming new drama Radiant City <璀璨之城>. Jackie used her downtime to earn a singing bowl certification. She is also preparing to release a comic book this summer.

As for Brian, he will head overseas to shoot a variety show. Traveling often for work has earned him enough frequent flyer miles to redeem flight tickets. He traveled alone to the United Kingdom last year to watch a soccer match, and upon stepping into the stadium, he felt like crying because he did not bring his mother along. Next time, he will use his miles to take his mother. When asked if he would bring rumored girlfriend Hera Chan (陳曉華) along on a trip with his mother, Brian quickly turned to Jeannie as a distraction and jokingly said he would take her instead. Jeannie chimed in, “I love watching soccer too.” Reporters quickly called out Jeannie as a Liverpool supporter, which would be strange to watch a game with Brian, a Manchester United supporter, causing everyone to burst into laughter at the awkward moment.
