Charmaine Sheh Makes Rare Appearance on “Super Trio”
Making a special appearance on TVB long-running gameshow Super Trio – Year End Special <獎門人聖誕感謝祭> on December 2 , actress Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), whose last appearance on a TVB variety show was 10 years ago, led cast members from now-airing drama The Queen of News <新聞女王> including Matthew Ho (何廣沛), Regina Ho (何依婷) to participate in various wacky games against Selena Li (李施嬅), Samantha Ko (高海寧), Venus Wong (王敏奕) and others!
Playing Younger Sister Man is “Stressful”
Interviewed by the press before the show, Charmaine acknowledged that it has been a decade since she went on a TVB variety show, and hopes not to get “punished” later on, while having fun with her fellow The Queen of News cast members. With the currently-airing drama getting a lot of hype, Charmaine thanks viewers for their support and hopes to spread joy with this particular Super Trio episode. “You’ve seen us all so serious in the drama, so today we’ll show everyone another side to us!”
Asked about her onscreen character Sister Man, whose sartorial choices and even hairstyle have been setting new trends amongst eager audience, Charmaine laughed and said, “The hairstyle is really neat as it’s easy to manage and matches well with many wardrobe pieces,” Teasing more unexpected plot twists as the drama progresses, Charmaine hinted, “(Things) might not be what you see or imagine it as,”
Another TVB Drama? Not So Soon, Says Charmaine
Sharing about the stresses of playing the younger version of “Sister Man” on set, the 48-year-old is thankful for the production crew’s efforts who made the effect believable! While Charmaine lets on that she would be heading to Beijing to promote the drama soon as its final episode would be aired earlier in mainland China, she did not forget to inform fans in Hong Kong about an upcoming exhibition that will showcase more stills from The Queen of News.
Happy to hear that the series was openly praised by China Central Television, Charmaine once again thanked everyone on behalf of the entire crew and said she will be working through Christmas, and would not be able to join in (variety shows) in upcoming days. Probed if she has been approached to film another TVB drama, Charmaine responded, “Not so soon, as a good script, and good role, is not something that can be realized in a fortnight”, while revealing that she is currently in discussions about another drama production.
