Charmaine Sheh Wants to Be a Diamond Spinster
To celebrate the premiere of TVB’s latest drama Line Walker <使徒行者>, Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) treated the cast and crew to a large dinner banquet. The mystery drama, which also stars Michael Miu (苗僑偉) and Raymond Lam (林峯) premiered on Monday night, August 25. Charmaine said she hopes Michael and Raymond will pick up where she left off and be the next ones to treat dinner.
Line Walker succeeded the time slot of Black Heart White Soul <忠奸人>, which aired to 30 rating points in the finale. Charmaine said she has confidence that Line Walker will continue to achieve good ratings like Black Heart White Soul as both dramas have similar suspenseful themes.
Both absent at the banquet, Michael and Raymond could not take part in the series’ promotional activities. However, Charmaine said their absence should not affect the series’ ratings and assured that they will return to help out soon. Gossip reports claimed that Raymond w0uld rather go on vacation with girlfriend Karena Ng (吳千語) than to promote the drama, but Charmaine defended, “As his friend, I will be happy as long as he is happy. And it’s not like he hasn’t promoted the series before.”
At the Miss Hong Kong semi-finals last weekend, in which Charmaine was a judge, celebrity voter Nat Chan (佘詩曼) referred to Charmaine as a “golden spinster”. Asked if he was unhappy with the term, Charmaine laughed out loud and said, “I’m not unhappy! Actually, I see it as he’s praising me. It would be better if he added ‘diamond’ in the front!” Charmaine said she is not in a hurry to get married, exclaiming that she is currently very happy. She added that not all of her friends are married, so she is not alone.
Samantha Ko Pranked
A netizen photoshopped Samantha Ko’s (高海寧) face onto a naked woman who is holding hands with a child. The edit was widely circulated online, much to Samantha’s displeasure. She said, “I was pranked like this before, but it’s getting worse. I feel embarrassed about it. As a public figure, it’s not quite good for my image. I also think it’s very disrespectful to kids. I feel very helpless about it. I don’t think mothers would appreciate it.”
She added, “Since [the netizens] are so bored, they should use that time to do more charity. If they like me, they should support my work instead.”

There is nothing wrong to be a “Diamond Spinster” as women are so capable these days. They don’t need to rely on men for their living like old days.
There is nothing wrong with that… but I still wouldn’t want to be one.
It is a personal choice anyway. Everyone is different due to her personality, background, fame, and fate.
I don’t think it’s a case of “needing a man to lean on” really… it’s a case of being able to find someone to share your life with. To go through it alone seems a bit sad – to me at least.

In the following weeks the promotion will be mostly by Michael Miu, Sharon & Sammy, since Charmaine will be away to England for TITS movie shooting, while Raymond is promoting his Mainland China series.
Line Walker doesn’t seem to that interesting after all. First thing they should of done is get rid of the slow motion shots. They look choppy and unpolished which is getting annoying rather than having a movie feel. Other than that, story seems to be quite boring with undercover theme AGAIN. Charmaine is cute and expressive in this series but it somehow seems to look a tad little forced and unnatural.
charmaine’s scenes are great. much better than raymonds. but yes, they do look a bit forced. i think its because she’s older now. cant play chitting chatting cute roles forever….
So far i enjoyed this drama as i think the story line are well written. Charmaine and Raymond do have alot in chemistry in the drama. Oscar play a good role also in the movie. Hope it will have good ratings.
I totally agree with you. I’m enjoying the Line Walker immensely, the storyline is interesting and the acting is great. Charmaine is giving me lots of laughs, I haven’t enjoyed a TVB drama as much as this for a long time.

agree,i think this could be the best drama in years by tvb. watching this drama do me think of their best days in the ’80 and ’90.its fast pace,funny and thrilling at the same time,good acting good cast,i like the great chemistry between raymond and charmaine.

I am not crazy about Charmaine but she is hilarious in this series. Her natural acting with Raymond, Michael, and Oscar….I found it cute during those scene she is with Michael Miu at the restaurant when she ordered ton of food and he did not cover the tab….
I must say Charmaine Sheh’s acting is miles ahead of the current TVB fadans. She is very natural and versatile in her acting. Enjoy her in “Line Walker”.

There is no hate towards other TVB fadans at all. It is simply my personal judgement of their acting skills vs. Charmaine Sheh’s.

Most women want to get married, have kids. Of course there are some who don’t want to get married, but cohabit, some dont want to have children.
I personally feel Charmaine wants to get married and have her own children. Unfortunately not all of us can do so.
I think she’ll do just fine. Having lots of money helps. These days woman not necessary needs marriage especially when you have money. Look at Dodo Cheng & Lisa Wang. Lisa was single for a very long period of time- had a great career- & finally marry late. Dodo is still single & doing fine. Truth is marriage does not solve all problems, it only brings with it a different set.

I must say that lots of ppl think that getting married is the key to happiness. Not everyone’s marriage is good, it really depends. Some gets better after marriage, some get worst after marriage. Not everyone is also destined to be married etc etc.
Agree that money helps, if you’ve lots of money, you can solve all the material things. But some ppl with lots of money still yearns to be married. Especially most of their friends are married and have children. That’s why a lot of men cheated women especially online these days to pretend they fall in love with the women. Why women fall into this? Because they were emptiness, they yearned to be loved and cared for and many of these women who parted ways with their money to scams etc are well educated women.
Whatever it’s I sincerely hope Charmaine will be happy be it single or eventually she meets someone.
