Aside from being an actress, Elaine Yiu (姚子羚) is also the co-founder and designer of the jewelry brand, DearBell2ling, which is in collaboration with Dear Bell’s Bell Kwan. Ever since the label launched in 2019, the 39-year-old has received a lot of support from her entertainment circle friends, including her “Nonsense Club” sisters, who would wear her jewelry pieces at various functions to help her advertise.
Among the “Nonsense Club,” Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) went above and beyond by making a TikTok video to display the different pieces. But Elaine’s younger sister, 32-year-old Sandy Yiu (饒慧珊), didn’t fall behind. As a news presenter for Now TV, she was seen wearing her sister’s brand. It turns out DearBell2ling has decided to sponsor the news department’s accessories so that her sister could wear her products.
In an interview with Big City Shop <流行都市>, Elaine shared that she designed these jewelry pieces according to her own needs. She wanted simplicity, so most of her pieces either use pearls or crystals, which are not only fitting for artistes but also office ladies. Since Elaine has very sensitive ears and she hasn’t found time to re-pierce one of her piercing holes that closed, she asked Bell to customize clip-on earrings for her.
She said, “The ones that I see on the market or online are either really big or heavy, which squishes my ears. When you wear it for too long, it starts to hurt, but her designs won’t, and instead, they are simple.”
Elaine enjoys working with Bell because they both have the same interests. Since they both love animals, they hope to donate a portion of their sales to animal charities.
Elaine and Sandy’s Last Names Are Different
Many might be wondering why Elaine and Sandy’s last names are different. Elaine’s current Chinese name is actually a stage name given to her by producer Wilson Chin (錢國偉), and her real name is (饒慧玲). While Elaine is mainly focused on acting and hosting with TVB, Sandy has been working with Now TV as a financial news presenter for the past nine years. She is currently a senior news anchor, and her popularity does not fall far from Elaine’s.
