Ella Yam Attends Le Bal in Paris

Held annually in Paris in November, Le Bal des Débutantes is a debutante ball featuring young women between the ages of 16 to 22 from influential families in entertainment, business, and politics. The notable attendees this year include Zhang Yimou’s (張藝謀) 17-year-old daughter Zhang Yi Jiao (張壹嬌), as well as Simon Yam (任達華) and Qi Qi’s (琦琦) 20-year-old daughter Ella Yam (任晴佳).

Zhang Yi Jiao wore a conservative, royal blue satin dress. She was escorted by her brother, who was her cavalier and dance partner for the night. Yi Jiao’s mother Chen Ting (陳婷) wore a low-cut dark blue dress, while Zhang Yimou put aside his pride to take photos of her in front of everyone. As Yi Jiao spoke with other guests, the director stood by her side quietly listening. They hugged Simon’s family when they came across each other.

Ella wore a high-low hem fuchsia ruffled dress and was introduced as, “cheerful and confident, full of youthfulness and fashion sense.” Qi Qi wore a low-cut dress with a large necklace of a cross and accentuated with a blazer. Simon dressed for the occasion in a suit and added some facial hair for a touch of coolness.
