Female Cast Thanks Philip Ng’s Help in “Fist Fight’s” Action Scenes

TVB anniversary drama Fist Fight <兄弟> will start broadcasting next week. In recent interviews, Tiffany Lau (劉穎鏇), Kaman Kong (江嘉敏) and Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) revealed how they got through the many intense, action-packed scenes in the show.

According to Tiffany, co-star Philip Ng (伍允龍) would help her train in the hotel corridor during breaks, and then she would go find her roommate, Kaman, to practice (or as the latter described it, to use her as a “human punching bag”).

Kaman also gave credit to Philip, saying that during a scene involving a running stunt on a building rooftop, he had reassured her and inspected her safety harness, as well as giving her tips on how to proceed.

As for Rebecca, she said that she had a love-hate relationship with filming action and fighting scenes in general. She also accompanied Tiffany and Kaman to treat their “teacher”, Philip, to dinner to thank him for his assistance during the filming process.

After hearing the praises from his female co-stars, Philip’s reply was humble: “I’m experienced as a stunt coordinator, so I’m more familiar with what’s involved. In this series, everyone has put a lot of effort into the fighting scenes, including Vincent Wong (王浩信) and Mat Yeung (楊明). I’m passionate about Kung Fu, and after work I just go home to play games anyway, so it’s better not to waste time doing that!”
